Biologically and factually speaking, he was right. I just don't think "...from old age and natural causes" is what he had in mind regarding the large majority of coalition troops.

Baghdad Bob, the Iraqi information minister, was one of the more comical figures in the Iraq War. When asked what would be the Iraqi Armies objectives against the Americans, he replies that they will all die. Where's the strategy? No wonder the Hussein regime fell so fast, luckily for us.

Being a confident, arrogant American, I thought this was funny at the time and I just shook my head. I never dreamed that he'd be partly right.

And, technically, based on all the empirical evidence, he is right. Because any strategy can accomplish your goals. But, in the long run, we're all dead. (A statement actually made by me to an Executive Board of Directors in a meeting. They didn't think it was funny, either. )

I love this quote, because you can just picture a team of Iraqi analysts, composing data, graphs, and charts, calculating statistics, and coming to the conclusion, Yep, they're all gonna die.
