 | irishgit (156) 04/24/2008 | I see the daily meeting of the RIA self-pity party has been called to order. I think I'll go for coffee.

 | lmorovan (19) 04/24/2008 | Sure, teach your child that hate crime is OK. Teach them intolerance. Teach them to have no respect for anyone's belief system. But then, teach them to shut up and suffer when they are behind bars for committing a hate crime. Also, teach them to shut up and suffer when his/her freedoms are being suppressed. You see, it goes both ways.

 | TeresaG (31) 04/24/2008 | OR, in the other direction....it's ok to supress religious freedom as long as they have "freedom". That just makes ZERO sense. We already have suppressed religious freedom, so what does it matter? We can worship in our homes and churches ~ not in school. And this whole "freedom" issue is absurd! We think it's ok to have people at Armed Services funerals yelling "God hates Faggots", yet a prayer in school (even a silent one), is evil! There is no more "freedom" unless we conform to the Liberals and ACLU.

 | abichara (66) 02/27/2007 | Everyone in this country has the right to worship however they choose, whenever they choose and to associate with whatever church they would like. Go to a totalitarian country that doesn't encourage freedom of religion and see how that's like. Countries like Cuba, China and the former USSR formally discouraged the worship of God in all instances.

 | CanadaSucks (50) 03/16/2005 | Ahh. . .the rectums are puckering up. . .pray in a church. You pray somewhere else, you have to deal with public reaction. I can't yell at an airport, I can't use a bullhorn in a movie theater, and you can't practice your religion everywhere. Grow up, children. Telling you to pray in a church is not taking away your freedom- it's saving freedom. See other philosophies that believed that theology was a sound base for law - start with the Taliban. Christ wasn't this insecure about his beliefs. . .

 | emj5687 (4) 03/16/2005 | oh please, its hardly suppressing freedoms to try to keep the church and state seperated, are those liberals going in and shutting down all your churches?

 | Skizero (15) 03/15/2005 | doesnt seem to make sense to me. at the same time religious people should not expect that religious laws such as the 10 commandments be presented in public places. i respect people's right to religious freedoms but that should not allow them to subjugate the non-believing masses by having religious articles placed in common spaces.

 | Djahuti (57) 03/15/2005 | I am all for religious FREEDOM.No one- especially THE GOVERNMENT-has the right to dictate anyones choice of spiritual paths. If everyone would just mind their own business and truly walk their own walk-all of us: Moslems,Jews,Pagans,Buddhists,Christians,Hindus,Athiests,Agnostics etc. should be able to get along just fine.THAT,my friends-is religious freedom !!!And that is why Separation of Church and State is so vital to the American brand of Freedom we are all supposed to cherish.

 | Mr.Political (21) 03/14/2005 | It really baffles me how such a small miniority of the population (activist athiests in particular) can manipulate the justice system so that their interpretation of the law can be shoved down the throats of religious going citizens.

 | traderboy (27) 03/13/2005 | Poorly worded, as suppress and freedom can't logically co-exist in the same sentence. One knocks out the other. Yes, religion SHOULD be done away with, but not by forcible means. Common sense should win the day, and I'm yet to see a governing regime that uses common sense as its implemented ingredient for success.

 | barbkaye57 (0) 01/26/2005 | It depends on what you mean by suppress. There is a time and place for everything and that includes religion but ALL religions equally. For instance we wouldn't tolerate a muslim coming into our schools and trying to convert children to Islam so we should not tolerate christians from coming into our schools and preaching to our children. That is not the time or place.
