Roger Vadim sure knew how to find 'em (Bardot, Deneuve, Annette Stroyberg and Jane Fonda, among others, including Sharon Tate), while directors Jean-Luc Godard, Jacques Demy, Roman Polanski and Luis Buñuel made the best use of some of them, especially Deneuve. In Deneuve's filmography (b. Catherine Dorléac), her performances ('Les Parapluies de Cherbourg', 1964; 'Repulsion', 1965; 'Belle de Jour', 1967; 'Tristana', 1970; 'Donkey Skin', 1970; '8 Women', 2002) are inextricable contributions to an important cinematic legacy which, in the hands of others, might have been less transcendent. Moviegoers certainly can appreciate the early iconic screen presence of the likes of a Kim Novak or a John Wayne, which all directors have explored; given time, mature actors and actresses, of which Deneuve is one, have learned to come into their own, which is the case of Deneuve since around Indochine, 1992.

Probably a four for talent, but because of her class and agelessness I bumped to a five.

Lovely and talented actress. The plots of her movies are hard to follow, though I liked "Belle de Jour" best.

I think she is/was the Most beautiful women I ever have seen. The Hunger was HOT. I will see ANY movie she comes out in.

Have heard that she has the perfect face also. She was beautiful in Belle de Jour and has aged wonderfully. She's a wonderful actress, has zillions of fans. My only complaint is that I don't care for most of the movies she chooses to do (the storylines leave a lot to be desired).

Classy, elegent, beguiling French actor who was simply one of the world's moost beautiful faces. While she has appeared in many qulity French films, the MooCow's personal favorite remains The Hunger, where she snuggles up to the equally attractive Susan Sarandon - Yowza!!! :=8D Like any true beauty, she has aged well over the years, but has all but vanished from the face of Hollywood. A classic French actress!

I remember reading a long time ago now that this woman had a technically perfect face - I recently read the same thing about Elizabeth Hurley. Maybe there’s some kind of correlation here, because neither woman appears to have been given the gift of being able to act. Not surprising they were able to use those allegedly “perfect” looks to begile some producer or film executive into giving them the chance, but sorry I just don’t think Catherine Denueve has left a very strong impression in the film world (do you really ever hear people sitting around discussing their favorite Catherine Denueve movie?). Apparently the general public has had similar feelings over the years because she is rarely seen beyond old magazine covers and 8X10 glossies. Gets my vote as one of the top ten most forgettable people in show biz.
