Lt Welsh, as interpretated by the great actor Rick Warden, is one of the best characters in the whole Band of Brothers series. It's a pitty he doesn't show up more often, since him, Winters and Lt Spiers were the bravest man to lead the E-Company on the field. His best moments are seen on the third episode - the attack to the machine gun in Carentan (that saved the life of Shifty Powers in that episode) and the front personnal bazooka attack to the tank afterwards (that helped the E-company to hold the line), show that he was a tough, brave man in action. I just wish the BoB series had at least 15 episodes so we could see more of him and even more of some other characters. Hell, this way we could even get the chance of seeing the character of Paul Rogers - a important member of E-company in the book, that is not shown at the series, and others could be shown more, like Maclung, Don King, and other veterans from Easy that show up at the begining of each episode and at the Documentary. Well, not all is perfect...

I loved how Welsh made references to his gal Kitty. He showed his sentimental side when he rolled up his parachute and stuffed it in his musette bag, saying that he was saving it for Kitty to make a wedding dress out of, since so many fabrics were rationed in the war. I always crack up when he says, Light and noise discipline that means no playing grab the fanny with the man in front of you, Luz.

Destroyed a tank and made possible for Easy company to hold position. Ran in Carentan to destroy machine gunner. Remains down to earth.

I liked him as an officer. Seemed like a regular guy who happened to be an officer. It was nice that he was so devoted to his wife. I think he saved his parachute so his wife could make herself a wedding dress. Nice move. His perspective on war I agreed with somewhat. Cried a lot for a guy who want as injured as he thought and that drops him a star. You knew he was just a regular guy when he complained to Winters about assigning guys to hazardous commands when Blithe got shot by the sniper.
