These things happen, but when they don't happen on purpose, it's a matter of debate as to who is supposed to feel embarassed. Where I grew up, every kid did a (usually) short stint as a busboy at the local pizzeria. One night, one of the guys asked if if I would switch a night with him and I obliged. A couple of weeks later, I asked him to pay me back and he said, "No".
It was Sunday night...family night...and the place was packed. I waited for him to go out on to the floor. I, then, filled a tray to the brim with water and carefully inched out into the filled dining room. (The tray was pretty heavy, so I couldn't move quickly, or pay attention to anything else, as the water was sloshing over the edge.) When I saw him, I inched a littler closer and yelled his name.
"Steve!"
I, then, heaved the tray of water at him, but I was too slow. He stepped aside and a gallon of water hit this lady in the back and all over her fur coat and beehive hairdo, which collapsed onto her forehead.
Trust me. With all of the commotion, there was no room for embarassement. Not even until this day. THAT was a short career!

Yeah, I'm pretty much a klutz. So I've had my share of spilling food and drink- especially on other people. I don't think I could hack it as a waiter because I would probably drop everything.

When I go to restaurants and they bring water, I normally ask the waiter politely to take it away. I am such a clots, I almost always spill water another person. I feel bad, but at that moment I'm cracking up.

I'm known to spill any liquid I come in contact with, so now it's more of a joke, but a while back I would have been totally embarassed.

This can be embarrassing. For some reason, I seem to have a lot of coffee disasters. I spill it on myself, spill it in the car, spill it in the house. My most embarrasssing coffee moment was when I spilled my cup all over this woman's suit in the breakroom of my workplace. She was nice about it, but I could tell she was really pissed.

This bothers me a little, especially in public when I know there are people gawking at me, and there I am, the star of the freak show....

On one of my first dates with my wife, I spilled a huge glass of icewater(like half a gallon) on her. It was like the coldest day of the year too. I guess she forgave me.

This isn't too horribly embarassing -- maybe because I'm always spilling something on myself. When I went to a baseball game a few months back, the guy at the concessions counter didn't put the right size lid on my Pepsi and I got it down my front just as the first pitch was being thrown.
