Have never done this, I think it's more of an American tradition than a British one... don't quote me on that though as I could be wrong!

I really like this tradition, even though my family never had it. I've heard of families that do this and the present is always new pajamas that they can wear that night. I like that idea the best!

Our family tradition has always been that on Christmas Eve we meet with our Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents to exchange our gifts with them, then Christmas morning we exchange with our immediate family Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Spouses...while Snoopy's Red Baron plays in the background...we usually put it on repeat cause we're there awhile...and then my Dad makes Omelets and we watch movies all day...I miss it already!!!!

We do this EVERY year. I did it as a child and I'm carrying it on with my children.

We did this once or twice once we learned the truth about the big man from the North Pole, but usually if we opened any gifts on Christmas Eve, we just opened all of them.

I'm a spolied American I get multiple presents. Its not my fault I live in America though. Plus I think lately my parents and grandparents have been spending a little less on Christmas every year. But I don't mind I'm 15 I don't get offended by how many presents I get anymore.

We've done this at my house for a very long time and I think it's fun. I know some people open them all on Christmas eve, but that would just make the next day seem like a let down (ooo, that just sounds soooo greedy). This way it's more like a little preview.

This was something I enjoyed doing back in my younger days, when I got so excited about the presents under the tree I couldn't stand it. Now my niece and nephew partake of this tradition. As an adult, I'm satisfied to wait until Christmas morning.

Our teens still like to open one present on Christmas eve. Our son in particular looks forward to this. it is interesting how the little things mean something.
