 | Freddy Classic (0) 06/18/2005 | I was disappointed. I have heard what a great book this is, a classic. It was not that level. It is kind of two books in one. A war story and a love story. I thought the war story was full of action and was fast paced. It is almost as if he had someone ghostwrite the love story, which was slower than molsses and put me to sleep.

I don't have to force myself to continue reading it. His development and descriptions of the characters is impressibly intricate. Tolstoy writes as though he and the reader are involved in a discussion about the characters--and he very often is quietly poking fun at his characters. This intelligently humorous read has so many dimensions and is so fascinating, that everyone should at least attempt War and Peace. The only people I know who don't like War and Peace are those who haven't tried to read it. Those who have started it couldn't put it down. A must-read!!!
