This review is of the original version of Brylcreem. Was I surprised by this stuff. Brylcreem was the first hair care product ever marketed for men. For years this was it for hair styling. I remember my father using this when I was a kid (late '60s through the '70s). I never used Brylcreem until recently since I went from using Vitalis then The Dry Look in the '70s to moose in the '80s, then hair gels, pomades, etc. (I was probably the first generation of hair gel users). With Brylcreem I find it very easy to style my hair,it doesn't flake like gels, and it is not greasy contrary to all of the stories I used to hear (remember the Vitalis commercial and their Greasy kid's stuff accusations?); any styling cream or gel is greasy if you use too much. By the way, this is not for you if you want your hair to be spikey.

i used to use gel, but this made my hair go rather hard. so, i decided to try this and it's excellent. i only use a small amount when my hair is damp and the results are excellent. my hair now seems to be soft, yet i'm able to shape it the same way i did with gel. another positive i have discovered, is that the regular brylcreem has, over the last few weeks, completely stopped my dandruff! this is definitely a bonus imo.

I had heard the name Brylcreem in the past, but thought it was no longer made. I stumbled upon it a couple years ago along side the other hair gels, so thought I'd give it a try. WOW - this stuff is great! I've used gels, but really hate the hard 'helmet hair' you get with gel. Brylcreem is so different - it leaves my hair soft and pliable, yet I get the same (if not better) slick look that I got with gel. You have to use more than a little dab - I use about a spoon size abount. Because it keeps hair pliable, it won't work good for making super sharp spikey hair, but man it's great for a versatile number of slick looking hairstyles. I don't know why this stuff isn't promoted more - it is truely awesome.

I think that the "next generation ultra gel" is brilliant because i have short hair and i can still gel it up with this particular gel unlike lynx and others. Now i look brilliant with a new look!!!
