This is a nice gentle cartoon that is funny at times, and nostalgic in other times.

Ehh...mediocre strip which only looks good in the context of so many downright awful and unhumorous ones.
Chitown reader 01/14/2006
Consistently good, with some goofy artwork and hilarious scenes, not to mention occasional brilliant flashes of advanced math!

What I like best about Fox Trot is that the characters are an honestly believable family - sometimes the two brothers get along, sometimes they don't, sometimes the brother and sister get along, sometimes they don't. The situations they are in are realistic, yet nearly always funny. One of my favorite strips.

I can't believe the people who immedialty mis-judge judge this strip's genius solely on the fact that it isn't the best drawn comic in he papers. News-Flash, Dilbert is not a well drawn strip! We all read it due to it's content and HOW WE CAN ALL RELATE TO IT! That is what makes Foxtrot so memoriable; it's relation with the reader. I suggest that any new or old comic reader go to www.foxtrot.com and read up on foxtrot. Do not diss this strip because it is one of the best strips out and that have ever graced our comics page. Jason, Paige, Peter, Andy, Roger and Quincy; how could I ever forget them?
Mr.Political 11/13/2004
This is surely at the top of my list for best comics! The situations portrayed are funny but also relatable in one way or another.

Í've seen much better comics than this. This one I saw repeat recently and the first time I saw the comic, it was OK, but after a while, you will see that it lost its luster. I consider the television show (which shows a similar drawing of characters)on Cartoon Network Codname: Kids Next Door better.
Mad Hatter 10/16/2004
Definatly one of my favorites.
TheDesertFox 07/09/2004
Very good, but not the greatest. 5 stars are reserved for strips such as Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, and The Far Side. Although Fox Trot is a good strip, it really has lost some of its greatness over the years, and it seems like the same old joke over and over again now.
Jamie McBain 06/22/2004
The iguana is one of my favorite charecters in the strip.
fhdddddddhgfhf ghfg 04/16/2004
Foxtrot is the best comic strip in the world. The drawings are all that needs help.
btdt 04/13/2004
I truly don't understand one person's obsession with this strip. It's not terrible, just mediocre. Are you sleeping with the artist, or what? (Probably not, since you sound about...12)
irishgit 01/12/2004
Has declined dramatically. Very recycled now, and I always feel I've read the strip ten times before.
ERGignac 06/16/2003
Great comic strip! However the drawing stylehas grown stale with me. ~Erg!
bud neill 05/31/2003
No way. This rating is too high. I'd say it's a so-so at best.
comicbook1 05/22/2003
Its an odd strip but it grows on you.
ilovefoxtrot 04/26/2003
foxtrot is hilarious and despite the heavy censorship of comic strips and the critical readers,it has been funny for 15 years (April tenth it turned fifteen).it didn't sell out and become about profit like garfield or stop after a short period of time like calvin and hobbes, it gets funnier every strip. each strip is different and therefore the comic appeals to people with different senses of humor.it is so cleverly written and each strip I find myself amazed thinking "how did he come up with that- that's so creative!" each charachter has a personality people can identify with and it never fails to brighten my day. the drawing is unique, too.
lunablu 03/16/2003
Reminds me of my own family. Love Jason's scifi themed strips
j777 03/01/2003
it's just funny and i like it. it's what makes my day so happy and the drawing'a are so magnificent.
sharpshooter 02/22/2003
sorry i love this comic but i want the peanuts to climb higher on the list
nessiepup 02/19/2003
Love Jason's sci-fi movie/tv stripes.
jdubrates 02/18/2003
Sometimes funny, but the drawing is so ugly I don't often read it.
Classic Steve 02/18/2003
While the irony on many days tests my tolerance level, Jason makes this far more intelligent than most comics.
ChunkyLover53 02/16/2003
man, I love this strip! I never get tired of reading about the adventures of the Fox family. The characters seem like real people too. My younger sister is just like Paige.
Jason1972 12/13/2002
Who? If I never heard of this, it shouldn't be sandwhiched in between Peanuts, Far Side, and Calvin & Hobbes.
Echo419 12/11/2002
Definitely tied for first with Calvin and Hobbes in my (comic) book... its always funny and is always coming up with new ways to make me laugh
traincollector 11/20/2002
Consistently funny and light! Always fun to read!
Rusty 06/18/2002
Fox Trot is a well-written cartoon. Paige is my least favorite character, though.
TheFreak 02/11/2002
Great for a laugh, especially when it's 6:00 in the morning and I'm getting ready to leave for school while attempting to open my eyes and get the knots out of my hair and desperately need something to wake me up. The ones picking on teenybopper boy bands are the funniest, like the recent one in which Jason was investigating the Bible to see if *NSTINK being given roles as Jedi knights in the next Star Wars was a sign of the Apocalypse. I love the way that the cartoonist, Bill Amend, uses Paige to poke fun at preppy teenagers, another species of which I am not in the fan club. Not as great as Doonesbury (what is?) but still pretty funny and people from all sides of the spectrum can enjoy it.
The Waffler 01/09/2002
SO overrated. Boring, gaudy, and tedious; not to mention it seems like the cartoonist is ALWAYS on sabbatical, judging the number of repeats that are printed. And what is up with the faux-"social commentary"? Nothing is addressed directly; usually the characters go about it through dumb, indirect plot devices or preachy lessons. Get this strip out of my paper!
Potch1214 09/18/2001
Personally, I put Amend's "Foxtrot" up there with Sparky Schulz's "Peanuts" and Breathed's "Bloom County" as the best. It is wholesome enough for the whole family, but edgy enough for adults to love too.
MedgarEvers 09/12/2001
With some of the elements that make up "Calvin and Hobbes" and "Garfield," "Foxtrot" has had some truly great moments. One of my favorites is the one in which Jason's father is singing "Burnin' Love" in the shower, and Andy (the wife) tells Jason "there's a switch down in the basement that says 'cold water shutoff.'" and Jason says "I thought you'd never ask." Foxtrot is pretty awesome.
Snoopy 07/04/2001
FoxTrot is the Simpsons of the comics page.
Spiralingmarce 05/21/2001
Hilariously dysfunctional family. They may be stereotypes, but they're great!
jesterr 03/09/2001
All characters have depth. Writing is consistantly humorous. One of the five best strips in syndication.
