The performance hall of New England Conservatory. They have world-class classical artists performing here all the time (both the NEC website and the bulletin boards on the steps of Jordan Hall will give you a schedule). It’s elegant enough, but for years I never understood why this place was renowned for its acoustics until I heard a string octet concert that made me feel like something subtle, intangible, and awesome had happened to my soul. Or maybe I was just drunk...except I wasn’t. Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of concerts here, and all of them have been excellent.
