Arguing with Idiots: America's Next Epic Battle: 1776 vs. 1984 (Glenn Beck) 5

I bought the audio book and loved disc #1. When I took disc #2 out of the package it had a glob of glue on it from the sleeve it was stored in. I used Goof-Off to try to remove the glue and it dissolved the CD! If you run into this problem just take the set back to the store. Once your CD is melted plastic the entire set is ruined.

After reading the reviews, good and bad, I thought I'd buy this one. I found a lot of great information in Glenn's fun and enjoyable style of presenting it. Did I find "lies"? No mostly just things that worked in the past an values that have been mostly outlawed (like personal freedoms). There was also a review I read that stated: "In 1939 - 45 a lot of brave people were killed trying to stop this sort of idiocy taking over the world.". Again I did not find that either, This book is definitely against the sort of National Socialism that got people killed between 1939-45. Yes the Nazi party was a National Socialist party (look it up). So if you have an open mind, I recommend this book. You'll find the only Hate associated with this book is from reviews of people who either didn't read it, or just are full of hate.

While the 1st amendment to the American Constitution (a document that Mr Beck and his ilk appear to have a nodding and rather selective acquaintance with), guarantees Mr Beck the right to spout his views (a tolerance he seems somewhat unlikely to extend to those who disagree with him), no one with any pretence to rational thought could ever agree with this twaddle.

Yet another symptom of how the Republicans are becoming the natural party of stupidity.

In 1939 - 45 a lot of brave people were killed trying to stop this sort of idiocy taking over the world.

I wish Amazon's rating system allowed negative stars as these are the only rating that this unmitigated nonsense merits.

If these reviews are used to update the recommendations database/algorithm please do not ever recommend anything like this to me ever again.

I mean the only saving grace of this book is that Amazon puts it in the entertainment section.

Glenn Beck's latest book is his best effort of the year; his approach to any issue is to apply a liberal dose (excuse the pun) of common sense for the best course of action. He's not swayed by rhetoric and he knows when it's being used against the best interests of the American people.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of the voters in this country were fooled by the left wing rhetoric of the current administration, although the tide appears to be turning; thanks in large part to the pragmatic approach to the issues by Beck and other champions of a more centrist approach to government.

Big government is jeopardizing our freedom and our econmic well-being; the self-serving special interests that are sending this country down the catastrophic path of socialism must be stopped.

Beck's wonderfully irreverent perspective is coming along at a time when we need all the help we can get.
