I reserved a car with Sixt in France back in May for travel in August. When I contacted them to change my dates by four days, I was told I could neither change my reservation nor cancel it as I had missed the "deadline" which was in the terms and conditions of their contract. I reviewed the terms and conditions again and saw nothing about a deadline under the heading "Cancellation". I even copy/pasted their own Terms to them and asked for clarification and again requested to cancel as there was no deadline mentioned. It was only then that they sent me a footnote to the terms which indicated the cancelation deadline and insisted that they would charge me for the rental which I am unable to now use or revise. This is a very bad business practice and I believe they have treated me very unethically in this deliberate bait and switch in their terms. Had I seen a cancellation deadline mentioned under the terms initially, I would have NEVER booked with this unethical company. Not only that, but the customer service people I have been working with have been shunting me back and forth for more that two weeks with a runaround - transferring me hither and yon before someone finally told me about the deadline. This company is very BAD news. Do not book with them under any circumstances. The low price isn't worth the bad faith business practices.
