I'm always looking for a better food for my dog at the same or better price. My search has ended! If you're confused or interested in the dog food debate and why I choose Diamond, check out the following forum thread (also on Rate It All). It's long but covers almost everything there is to debate about the subject. Maybe the retailer types who sell this stuff work on a lower profit margin but I think I've lucked out!

This food is a case of needing to blindly compare labels. When stacked against foods twice the cost, its' ingredient list more than holds its own. Science diet adult starts with whole ground corn. None in the Diamond Natural, for example. When compared to their regular brands, this is a GREAT improvement for literally pennies on the dollar. I am sure that the ingredients aren't organic, but neither are the ones in the hamburger helper I had for dinner so let's keep that in perspective. The processing is most likely standard for the industry, causing a good deal of nutrients to be lost in the preparation. Again, nothing is perfect. BUT, this is such a step forward in dog food, I thought it worth adding tot he site. I seriously would consider this as food for anyone, especially those on a budget. Preservatives and trendy granola ingredients cost money, money that drives up the final cost of the food. Advertising also drives up costs. This brand seems to get the concept of giving people not only a good value, but a good product. As always, there is room for improvement...there is no "perfect" food.
