 | alpepper (21) 02/08/2006 | As a game, no better than a late season Saints-Texans matchup. But from a historical context, the gravity of the Dolphins preserving their perfect season made it compelling. Vegas had Miami as a 3 point underdog. The only memorable play was the Garo Ypremian goofed-up non-pass returned for a touchdown by Mike Bass -- otherwise that would have been the only shutout in Super Bowl history.

Believe it or not, Sports Illustrated predicted beforehand that the Redskins would win easily, as even back then there was a heavy anti-Dolphins media bias. The east coast media resents them o this day because they had the unmitigated gall to win every game when apparently it was an unwritten rule of football that it just wasn't supposed to be done. Not by a non-east coast team anyway.

 | Philkid3 (0) 09/09/2005 | I want to know how many people look at the score and say hey, that seems exciting! I'll give it a 5! and know nothing about the game. This SHOULD have been a 17-0 shut out. The Redskins never had a prayer until the very end, and even then it was faint. The only reason I give it a 2 instead of a 1 was because of how entertaining Ypremmian's pass was.

 | jgls (12) 01/11/2004 | not the greatest game, but the dolphins won the afc championship on the road and beat a favored washington team to win their first super bowl. not only has a team never gone 17-0, they haven't even gone 14-0.

 | jamestkirk (23) 09/24/2003 | 17-0: the best season ever and doubtful in this extremely competitive age that it will be repeated.
