They name the Super Bowl trophy the Vince Lombardy trophy for a reason.

Al,the Ice Bowl was played the following year, before Super Bowl II (Which was played in Miami. The 1st SB was played in the Los Angeles Coliseum). Green Bay also beat Dallas to go to this one , at Dallas , 34-27 .In any case , the 1st half was pretty good , with the Packers totally outplaying the Chiefs in the 2nd. Not a great game , but Lombardi winning it always gives it some measure of greatness. The only thing that really sucks,is that,in spite of not one,but two, networks broadcasting it,neither network saved a copy of it.Only NFL Films' version survives.Pathetic.

Not much of a game. Lombardi and the Pack stood so tall that it was a joke!

Even though KC didn't win, they still hold the priviledge for being the first team to make it to a Superbowl... How many other teams can SAY that? ... hehe.. besides Green Bay ;)

They didn't even call it the Super Bowl (It was the NFL-AFL Championship game). I'm guessing that after the Frozen Tundra Ice Bowl game against Dallas, this game in sunny Miami must have been a walk in the park. Seeing Max McGee make those clumsy TD grabs (supposedly, he spent the night before carousing with a stewardess) is a memorable moment.

Vince Lombardi richly deserved the trophy.
