 | Jebril (1) 09/15/2007 | It's one of the slowest games you'll ever play, skill is measured in how smart you are with your ammo and how you solve puzzles, but behind it all is a very enjoyable game that's diffcult in it's own unique way, with amazing graphics for it's generation it is easily a benchmark for graphics in the 6th Gen Console games that has yet to be beaten.
The only problem with this game is that it's not really a game to begin with more like a puzzle solving story tale, and that the control is diffcult to adjust to, but once you understand it you'll be able to use it properly or at least semi-properly.

 | fakenevermakingpostag... (0) 10/07/2006 | Truly awsome edition to the resident evil saga.
It strays from realism a bit more then the first few but not for at least 10 hours into the game.
Not much replay value
after you beat secrets
but at 40+ hours of gaming who cares?
Best 20 bucks spent on a game in a LONG time.

 | The Slacker (0) 12/17/2004 | Great game, got me into the ever continuing seires. Unlike many others I loved the controls but for some unanswered reason the original scared me slightly more than this one. Ive beaten it to many times to count and still find it fun. Highly recommened

 | narendar (0) 07/19/2004 | Until RE4 appears, this is still one of the most stunning looking games to be released on the Gamecube to date, along with it's prequel Resident Evil 0. Sure it's a remake but when the graphical overhaul is such a big leap from the original, it's hard not to feel as if you are playing an entirely new game. Character's and monsters look and act more life-like than before and there are moments that will genuinely have you on the edge of your seat. Some people find the controls some getting used to but if you've played any of the previous RE games, you'll know what to expect. However if this is your first time, you'll need about half an hour before it all starts to feel intuitive, after which you won't look back, or rather you might, over your shoulder that is. Best played with the lights off. It's creepy, atmospheric and beautiful all at the same time.

 | anakenobi (0) 06/30/2004 | Resident Evil 1 or RE-make as it is also known' is such a beauty of a game that any fan of the genre or any game fan should play. Shinji Mikami, the father of the RE numerical series, produced his ultimate vision of the first chapter exclusively for GameCube. He wanted to bring the fear factor back to the saga and since he was the director of RE-make it sure worked! If you think the remake for GC is just the same game with pretty graphics, well you be wrong my friend. RE-make has a lot of exclusive content (the new Crimsom Zombies, for one thing) and details concerning the history of the numerical series (The whole Trevor tragedy storyline). Besides, the voice acting and the intro FMV is waaaay beyond the corny-cheesy stuff you saw in the original PSX versions. The plot is still campy, though. This game is a must buy and if you're going to play Resident Evil Zero, I recommend you play RE-make first 'cos plotwise it is a lot better to do just that. The game has nice extras like the usual but NEW costumes for the main characters plus a gallery of pre-production art and a special letter to the gamer from Shinji Mikami himself!!!! Buy it!

 | squirrelmaster69 (0) 03/24/2004 | alot better than the origional. its always fun to shoot and kill zombies. i just hate dealing with them when they re-awaken. then they get very annoying. but still capcom did a great job with this remake. the voice acting greatly improved. so did the graphics.

 | MeatLamp (0) 05/29/2003 | This is the definite scariest video game ever. I could not stay up for more than 1 hour at night with all the lights off playing it. It scared me shatless. It's a helluva lot better than the PS1 version (If anybody knows the Jill "Master of unlocking" thing is then they know what i'm talking about). The graphics are really what got me here though. The eeire fog, the mutilated zombies, and the lighting effects mane my jaw drop. And Jill looks very attractive. (Even for a computer generated woman, she has a nice ass.) And i dont' even own the game, I just rented it a few times. That just goes to show you how friggin great this game really is. CAPCOM blew me away.

 | Talena (0) 05/13/2002 | Wow...all I can say is wow. After years of wanting to play this game but not being able to because I didn't have a PlayStation, Resident Evil finally came to Nintendo. This game is so scary! I am a big fan of scary movies/games and this one takes the cake. I actually screamed out loud once when this zombie came running down the hallway at me...something I've never done before. The graphics are so realistic that it's spooky, and the creepy, eerie background music doesn't ease the suspense either. The voice acting was not too great and some of the puzzles were way too easy to solve, but other than that it's perfect. If you are looking for one of those games you can't put down for hours, this is the game for you. Finally, a rated M game for the Nintendo! I love it...
