Best for their pesto pizzas. Bad location - right across the street from one of the most notorious of projects in the city, but great food. Update - the projects have been dismantled.

Really good stuff! Top quality ingredients. Be sure to get a salad too... they grow much of the produce in their own gardens!

We read the reviews and almost didn't go because of the poor service comments. But we did go and maybe someone has read those reviews, because the service was very good. The wait staff was friendly, efficient and the pizza was very, very good. We are locals and we are delighted and will return.

overpriced? 18$ for a large pizza? you are in san francisco you know... anyways, paulines is probably the best pizza in sf, living here for 5 years, i had my share, and nizario's, quite frankly, is not in the same league

Ok - the other reviewers were right that the pizza here is fairly good - but the service SUCKS and the whole thing is WAY overpriced! Don't ever take a group to this place. They have a nice upstairs room, so it's tempting to want to take a group there. But let me tell you, were were 15 people, we each had 1-2 beers and 1-2 slices of pizza and the bill was $480!! RIP OFF!

I agree that it's overrated. I used to live a block away, but still did not go there often because it's too pricey and not really worth the extra bucks. Sometimes overcooked, usually too thin, and generally "hipper than thou." Nevermind.

Great if you're in the mood for 'gourmet' pizza, which means expensive and petite portions (pizza's are paper thin). In my experience the service has not been the best. But I generally like the atmosphere.

Overpriced, overrated, the service is slow, and it's in a shady part of the Mission. The pizza is decent, but who wants to pay $23 for a decent tasting pizza when you can get a hot, fresh, tasty slice from Nizario's for $2.25?
