 | lighght (0) 02/07/2006 | I love the show and rarely miss it. The single minded greed and determination of the perps is breathtaking, but that's what makes the equally determined detective work so satisfying to watch. Reflected in the title of the program is how crucial it is to be able to afford top notch, expensive lawyers. Many times when I've watched, I've thought, "if that guy (or girl) was a Joe Blow, he'd be behind bars right now." Look at Cullen Davis, for example - that case still makes me sick. What I like about Dominick Dunne is that his commentary reveals the same outrage. He is an interesting guy, because on the one hand, he obviously glories in rubbing elbows with the rich and famous, but on the other, he gets righteously indignant when people who've been dealt an incredibly lucky hand one way or another choose to abuse the opportunity so grievously. They could have just as easily been thankful for their good fortune, enjoyed life and done some good for humanity through charitable deeds. But they chose selfishness and an overriding sense of entitlement. I enjoy watching the cases unfold and seeing the deserving get what's coming, privileged or not.
