Spiritual satanism is worshipping the devil, true satanism is basically "you are your own god, so please yourself". It's sad how many people misunderstand this religion, and even sadder how many people are vicious and blind in their hate of those who follow it. I thought being a good person was accepting others as long as they are good people too. Religion has nothing to do with whether or not a person is a good person. The mere idea of Believing in Christianity only to promote its wicked antithesis, is to me a cry for help in finding the true path out of the cycle of ignorance and blind faith demanded from Christians. I consider this yet another fialed spinoff of Christianity..although from its symbols and cosmology I gather some of its ritual origins extend far before the advent of Christianity, probably culled from corrupted systems of magical beliefs. There are a few distinctive things about Satanism I enjoy, one of these is its "no nonsense" approach to life. I really like the modern founder's (Anton LaVey) showmanship when choosing the name "Satanism" when LaVeyen Satanist's point of focus is not a character know as Satan. Still they put on quite a show.
