Mike had a lucky year and IU made the mistake to sign a multi year contract. I was willing to pay part of Mike's salary if he went pro--just to get rid of him. Please get rid of this recruiter and hire somebody good---like a Rick Pitino or Coach K assistant.

better recruiter than coach

Nice guy,,,,bad coach.

The team has gotten progressively worse each year he has been its head coach. The players lack fundamental skills and game situation knowledge. What I find amazing is the Davis defenders all point to his skills as a recruiter, while at the same time saying the team couldn't break 500 last year because of a lack of talent. You can't have it both ways... If there is a lack of talent, then Davis isn't recruiting effectively. He's already proven he's not much of a bench coach or strategist.

This year's team showed the lowest basketball IQ I've ever seen...and that includes high-school teams. That's all coaching, folks (or in this case, a lack thereof).

He's an idiot. He should be around #320.

One stat will tell you that Mike Davis cannot coach. Indiana had been out scored by over 100 points in the second half this year. Why? because at half time, other coaches make what I like to call adjustments. Mike Davis obviously doesn't know what those are. I am a die hard IU fan since I can remember and that will never change. But I hope we don't even make it to the N.I.T. so IU will get off their asses and fire Mike Davis. I like him as a person and a recruiter. But he is not an effective leader of men.

Anyone who has ever coached basketball can see it in a heartbeat. Indiana is the worst taught team I've ever seen. Basketball players must be taught how to play the game, and watching IU's games it's obvious that fundamentals are not part of the equation. There's more to the game than launching 25 footers. Remember when we used to work for a good shot? Remember when it wasn't four guys standing around watching one guy go one on one? Why abandon everything that the previous coach did? Seems to me he had some measure of success.

As a long time IU fan, I am a little afraid coach Davis may replay the Frieder to Fisher syndrome. I hope not. And what about some movement from the guys away from the ball? And I aint talking about the ones on the bench.
