 | TarynVickery (0) 01/26/2006 | Stacey Dales is one of the greatest female basketball players out there...this bleach blonde comment is from someone that has no idea the real Stacey and is just ignorant all together...
I am lucky enough to have had the opportunity to play with Stacey throughout Highschool for our highschool team and rep team...and against her in public school. No one has any idea the intensity that she shows, yet the absolute respect that she has as well for her teammates and even opposition.
She is an awesome player and an awesome human being. Anyone would be lucky to know her...and those that don't...shouldn't make comments, because they have no idea what a wonderful, funny, loving and compassionate person she is!!!

 | tatann1 (0) 07/25/2003 | Excuse me while I speak my mind on this issue. I'm taking the advice listed in helpful comments and really saying what I think.
Stacey has really gotten a bad rap this season. She plays hard and with a lot of heart every time she hits the court! So what if she's had some Sophomore slump spells this season...who hasn't. No one is perfect...but Stacey is a great player and an even greater person. Just look into her eyes and you'll see what she's made of. Look out for the determined side of her to really shine the rest of this season & stand back and watch out next season.
She helped the University of Oklahoma to come back and build a great program at a time when they were struggling. The program was built around hard work, love for the game, and belief that it (winning) could be done against all odds...and she did all of the above. She taught those around her (her teammates, fans, and kids in the community) to believe in theselves even when others thought they didn't stand a chance. She believed in the "program" and she lived it. She taught those around her to never give up or stop fighting for what they BELIEVED in when things got tough (because she never did). I believe that given the chance, she will also prove out with the Mystics.
She will not take all of the negative comments of the public and press lying down. She is a strong person and great player and she will take all of the negativity and turn it into productivity. She'll come back strong and really show all of the negative thinkers.
On the court, she's a fighter and an unselfish player who loves the game. Off the court, she's a fighter for her friends, family and community. She is an unselfish person who loves those around her and strives to set a good example for those who look up to her. She could be stuck up and full of self-importance, but she's NOT. She is friendly, outgoing, and encouraging to those around her. Whether they are child or adult, good-looking or not, physically adept or physically hadicapped, it makes no difference to her...she treats them all with the same love and respect. She helps others to learn to believe in themselves and to reach for their goals-whatever they may be.
She has always shown respect to others and encouraged them to never give up when things get tough. She is someone people look to for leadership...and she leads by example. She believed in me and helped me to reach goals of my own and I want to return the favor by showing support for her now. I want all of the negative thinkers to understand she's more than just a wonderful player...she's a wonderful person.
If you are going to RATE her...do it with information not just a stat board. Give her the respect she's always given others...look beyond the stats (surface we all see) and acknowledge her as a person as well as a player. I BELIEVE in her skill, heart, and her ability to lift others up (as a player and a person) on and off of the court.
I've read other comments that she is overrated or is just cute. She is not just "cute...she's a beautiful PERSON---and I don't believe she is overrated either...to me she'll always have skill AND heart. Therefore, in my book, she'll always be "GREAT"-on & off the court (person & player).
