UPDATE:  I just finished Devil's Game by Robert Dreyfuss.  Now I have to give you a warning, and that Dreyfuss might be a little too lefto for some of you.    Dreyfuss is a freelance investigative journalist whose work appears in The Nation, Rolling Stone, Mother Jones, The American Prospect, and many other publications. Dreyfuss makes the point that Israel and the West created Hamas as a religious counterweight to Fatah and the nationalist Palestinian Arabs.  Dreyfuss' point is well documented and most likely iron clad fact.  Ironic, isn't it?

Arguably, the most despicable organization that non-members rationalize as a legitimate defense organization.Recently, Israel took out two of its leaders-which made the world a better place and the Israeli's were condemned as terrorists.

You people are blind to the facts. Hamas is a resistance organisation and although I do not condone its activities, they are only in responce to unending Zionist occupation of Palestinian land and collective punishment deemed out to all Arabs be they women, children or the old - there is no discrimination. They have so much support in Palestine because they offer solutions where the PLO/Americans have failed to - the so called peace plan is a farce, a joke with all possible outcomes leading to the interests of this 'state of israel' which by itself carries out targeted assasinations against who it deems to be 'terrorists & murderers'. These Zionists use an array of propaganda in their pitiful attempts to justify what they are doing from the Holocaust to suicide bombings. The truth is the occupiers of palestine do not want peace with neighbours they consider a threat and so long as they are stuck in that mind set the oppression will continue. You can say they take such harsh measures because it is in defence of their people who have every right to live there - this is the case now but when their forefathers moved there from different countries notably Europe, Russia & America to occupy this land by force, did they have any less rights? They acquired this misguided notion that Palestine was promised to them etc.. as if they are a chosen people from among the inhabitants of the earth and therefore special in a way. I see these zionist occupiers as nothing but soft nazis. They do not use the methods of nazism i.e. gas chambers etc.. but instead punish people en masse, cage them in by buidling walls and thereby annexing more land, using checkpoints to monitor Palestinians movements and you have the nerve to say this is just? Hamas covenant does not call for the destruction of 'Israel' but sees it as one of its options just like the zionists see the targeting assassination of suspected terrorists and torture as one of its most preferred methods. I personally think they are right in their motives but not in the method. I too would like to see an end to the killing which by the way the zionist entity could have stopped a long time ago by agreeing to the various peace initiatives by the americans and others although in my view biased. As you see now they are building a wall just like the soviets in Germany - do they think this will solve their problems? These 'israelis' are in a position where they are destined to destroy themselves, even with the help of the so-called super power america they cannot avoid this fate. God willing Hamas among others will send them there.

Bunch of crazed idiots.

HAMAS is one of the major impediments towards peace in Israel. They are indeed becoming a major force in Palestinian politics; they feed on the insecurities and misery of the Arabs in the region. The main goal of this organization is to form a unified Palestinian state minus the Jews and Israel. That is their main goal and they will not quit until they accomplish it. They don't want peace and they don't want live with the Jews. I support the establishment of a Palestinian state, they are a nationality that do deserve a state alongside Jewish state. That is the fair thing to do; the Jews and the Arabs have lived side by side in that land for 4,000 years, I think it's about time that they learn how to live in peace. The record shows that HAMAS has twisted around history to feed on the misery of the people. They have to realize that the Jews are not going to leave; its their land too. Ultimately no one can intercede in this problem, Bush can do all he wants to bring the parties to the table, but ultimately peace will come when the Arabs and the Jews choose to end the cycle of violence themselves. We can only be fair brokers in the deal AFTER they choose to come to the table. HAMAS has to have its wings clipped; only the Palestinians themselves can do this. If the Jews push towards war with HAMAS, it will only create more animosity among the Palestinians, support for extremist groups like this will go up.

Reading the principles of this group on the Internet I found them very simular to the principles of the Nazis (of which this group claimes to be against). The group is a Very Hardline Nationalist Raceist (with minority of socialist ideas but reject Socialists), they want there land back. As an insult to Jews they call them Nazis and Monkeys. They make many racist, paranoid, twisted, and false comments against the Jews. Number One cause of terrorism in Israil.

A violent terrorist organization who hates Muslims, Christians, Jews, Israeli's, and Palestinians. That's right. Hamas has killed Palestinians countless times.

In my opinion, Hamas is the primary reason that there will never be peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Every time that progress is made, that Arafat speaks out against terrorism, that Israel shows signs of being willing to compromise, that there is any kind of regional / US consensus about anything, Hamas goes and straps explosives to some kid and blows people up. I picture the decision makers at Hamas as being all men. They probably sit in the back room of some restaurant, or in a nice private residence, smoking cigars, playing cards, drinking Scotch, planning mayhem. When a destitute family brings their child by as a donation to the "cause," I imagine them getting up from their card game in the smoky back room, congratulating the parents of the 16 year old to be blown up and peeling off a couple of oily bills from a fat wad of cash, and strapping the explosives on the kid. The sickest part about this organization is they don't really seem to care about a Palestinian state. They don't care about peace. They don't care about the kids and civilians that they are blowing up. All they care about is war, and violence, and death to Israel. In this context, how will there every be peace?
