Bosch Worksite Table Saw 5

I bought my first table saw a year ago and it cuts 4/4 oak like butter. I bought another one last week just for dado work and portability. The new one comes with extras and is really handy.

Bosch Worksite Table Saw 1

I am a licensed contractor with over fifteen years in the trades and I am sad to report that this tool is the biggest lemon i have ever purchased in that time! Firstly, this particular saw gave up the ghost( that would be a failed armature) after only 14 months and less than 50 hours of use. How convenient for me that the magic 12 months of warranty were behind me when this saw died 2 months later. As a professional I am compelled to maintain my tools and keep them in good working order for obvious reasons.
All my equipment is cleaned after use; vaccummed or blown out with compressed air so a build up of sawdust etc. cannot be attributed to the aforementioned failure in the motor. My other complaints about this saw even before its meltdown are its lack of practical ergonomics and quite possible the worst ripfence system ever devised!
Older models of this saw used to include a collapsible stand that broke down flat like a card table and was great for jobsite portability. The gravity stand, while it may look like a cadillac on the sales floor is a cumbersome beast that requires attachment of the saw to the stand with four bolts and makes moving the saw independent of the stand impossible without their removal. Every time!
While I acknowledge that hardly any ripfence is 100% true even from the factory, the fence on this saw was abysmally out of square from the get-go. The fence clicks on and off the saw table and is locked into position with a tension knob at the rear of its length. Even wrenched down there is so much lateral play in the thing that the operator is forced to measure the fence to the blade at two points and repeat the process with any change in the dimension of stock desired.
Bosch tools are like too many other products, made exclusively in Taiwan and now riding on the cache of an old name. There is simply no excuse for such lousy craftsmanship on a tool that is price pointed where this one is! Save yourself the indignity of being the next poor shlub to write a long winded rant and buy a friggin Delta!

Bosch Worksite Table Saw 5

This was the first large piece of equipment I have bought so I shopped carefully. I purchased this for a 500+ square foot random width and length oak floor installation. Big job for me. This saw was hugely beneficial. Great blade and power -- very clean cuts (even after all that use still cuts like butter). The wheeled stand is the ideal combination of portability and stability. Some of the required safety features are annoying but not too bad. With the optional table extensions this saw is very versatile and the best value for the dollar I found.

Bosch Worksite Table Saw 4

I've only had it about a month and have only been cutting pine, but I've found little to criticize. It is precise and solid. With a good Freud blade I've been cutting thin 8' pine strips as little as 1/16" across with great accuracy and very smooth cuts. Seems to have plenty of power and - for me a key selling point - excellent safety features: riving knife, anti-kickback pawls and blade guard, which are easily attached and removed.

So if I were to criticize:
- a little play in the t-slot miter gauge. Probably not enough to create noticeable inaccuracies though.
- no locking mechanism for blade height. But I haven't seen it shift yet, although it may get looser with time.
- doesn't direct sawdust down chute very well. Tends to spray it all over the place, including face and eyes - make sure you wear wrap-around eye protection. But then this is probably typical of contractor saws.
- kind of a tight squeeze to get blades on and off the arbor. I'd be ok with this if it increased sawdust control, but it doesn't.

Overall though, I'm very happy with purchase and would recommend it.

Bosch Worksite Table Saw 4

This is our first table saw and it meets all our expectations. Bosch makes great tools and this is for sure one of its best.
