Saint Francis Wood is a residential neighborhood in San Francisco located close to the West Portal chain of shops and transit. It was the first planned community built west of Maryland and was established as a "residential park" with wide streets and aesthetic standards enforced by a neighborhood association that also maintains a private park and several fountains.

The houses in St Francis Wood tend to have small backyards and are separated from one another, which makes the neighborhood somewhat unique for San Francisco. Because the neighborhood has no businesses, it has a lower profile than other affluent neighborhoods like Pacific Heights and Presidio Heights.
