The new user had better count on the dealer or a friend to walk them through the setup for this thing, especially the clock. There is this international, symbolic guide that seems intended to help the user with setup. It is practically useless. Perhaps there are other reviews here or elsewhere that will help the new owner.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Easy to install. If you have half a brain and common sense you can do it minutes. The instruction sheet makes it look intimidating because it is so large but that is because it is in so many languages. I tore off the extra languages which made it easier to handle. The pictures actually complicate it more than they should so use your instincts.

Unit is lightweight and easy to install, but commands are a bit awkward to learn at first (hence the 4 star rating). Cateye makes a great product; have used them for 20+ years. Overall a recommended product.

First off, I love this device. It's small, elegant, looks great on the bike and is easy to use and read. Why not five stars? Well, because it is a bear to set up and calibrate. Whoever wrote the directions must have been on drugs. I almost threw it in the trash a few times, but I persevered. This unit doesn't have cadence and I don't think that's a big deal. Anyone who has ridden over a few hundred miles knows their cadence so I don't miss it. For what it is, it's great. Just take a valium before setting it up!

I have basically had this thing for three rides, and already the computer has problems. The main problem is that when I am trying to ride near a constant speed or have some form of seeing how I am riding besides how I feel; I get no result. What I am saying is the computer seems to read my speed for maybe 30 secs and then it cuts out, and then comes back in after a minute or so. Does me absolutely no good and for having it for such a short time really annoys me. I am on a very short budget and can not afford to go look for a better one and now I am stuck with something that does no more then tell me how long I have been riding. For someone who is trying to ride at least 30 miles a day this is very problematic. I recommend anyone trying to buy a computer, go to your local bike shop and talk to them. Many times they can hook you up with a decent computer and will very often price match if you find it cheaper. Usually they know what they are talking about too and can give you something that does not stop working after three rides. -Very Disappointing-
