My fiance and I went to Hawaii to get married. We went snorkeling almost everyday and this camera was a hit. We joked about getting another so we wouldn't have to take turns. I'm a botanist and I take a lot of close ups. I love the automatic macro which saves me from having to press another button. All buttons are easy for me. We took 3000 photos in 13 days. Movies are really nice. Great photos both above and underwater. Our photos came out way better than those I saw in the reviews before I bought it. Not one problem since I bought it in June 2009.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Hawaii and this little Canon performed beautifully. We took over a thousand pictures with the camera, both above and below the water. It never skipped a beat. Did not have to worry about pampering this camera while in the water. Very durable. Great in the surf, on the beach and at the water park. Pros: Excellent pictures both above and below the water No leakage in any of the latches Standard battery lasted most of the day on the beach Size was good for my hands (male 6'2") Good night time photos (on par with my three Sony Digital cameras) Excellent underwater photos, even in non-pristine conditions of the North shore Excellent day time photos Great lanyard with multiple attachment points. Cons: Cycle time between pictures feels slow and can be reduced via menu options Bigger battery reserve would be helpful. Comes standard with a 1000 mah.

I love this CANON camera.Canon never makes bad camera!!! I did some research before I had chosen this one cause I was in need for waterproof camera. I got it 2 months ago and, of course, I dropped it first time I took it out, it rolled over rocks for few yards-it got some scratches, but works perfect. Image Stabilizer is very useful, especially when you digitally zoom in, your shots are rarely out of focus and I find smart you can move the mount of your strap. Still haven't tried it on night mode, though. but overall- totally worth every single dollar you had payed for it. oh, did I mentioned battery's long life?

What a fun camera to have along on our annual trip to the water park. Videos going down water slides are cool! Gruesome affects taking portraits of people looking down into the water with camera under water. Its twelve mega pixel sensor makes large images, we tried an eight gigabyte memory card and feel it was plenty. A second battery is a must. Not that the battery capacity is lacking, we enjoy taking pictures and a second battery would have lasted well beyond the day in the sun. We've had it a month now and know for sure we can use it for any pictures. Shutter lag was not noticed at all. This will be my "go to," wet weather camera. Gene

This is the most amazing camera ever! I bought it for my vacation and was able to capture such amazing shots with it. To all of the others who complain about the way the camera works - you just have to know how to press the botton correctly (i.e. see the manual for directions but its not hard). With a small child who loves to take pictures, this camera is very durable. The fact that there is no lense cover does not make a difference. You just have to wipe the water from it here and there when taking "dry" photos.
