was funny on the old SNL shows. It's such a tragedy that she died so young.

actually, she did do standup, she has an hour and a half special available, and it's brilliant. an all time great, and married to gene wilder to boot. loved her. miss her. she should be ranked higher.

Gilda was a great actor but she never did standup. I am not sure why she is in this catagory but she was very funny and the world is a little sadder with out her.

She was priceless! What a tragedy that she died so young.

I really liked Gilda on SNL. she did some of the best characters on the show. Rosanne Rosanna Danna. Lisa Lupner, etc. She was such a talent. I got the feeling that she just loved making people laugh. It is too bad she had to die so young.

As long as Roseanne Roseannadanna is on the air, Gilda Radner will never be gone. She was a fine talent that was taken much too soon. She was one of the best comedians on SNL.

sorely missed.

Too bad she died. She seemed so adorable and funny in her roles.

A very gifted comedic actress, cutest lil thang you'd ever want to see. Sometimes she was a little over the top, but also brought something to her portrayals that shored up some lackluster material churned out by the SNL writers.

I never saw her do stand up ,but a great actor.
The Real Truth 02/23/2003
Because of early demise she in obviously receiving the sentimental vote. In reality she was very average.

"It just goes to show you, it's always something!" -Roseanne Roseannadanna, Gilda Radner character on SNL. It was always something with Gilda, and that something was laughter. She was and is a role model to everyone. After being diagnosed with cancer, which she refered to as the "most unfunny thing in the world" she didn't give up. Gilda's passing stifled the laughter for many at the time. But now, through re-runs and movies her comic skill can be showcased for new generations. Bottom line-wonderful funny human being.

How can she be a good stand up comedian when she never did stand up once in her life??
Annie4337 07/04/2002
I am so glad Gilda tops both lists. She is truly the greatest comedienne who ever lived.

Gilda was an excellent actress, other then her annoying child character on SNL that abused herself. Great gal, with a great husband.

It is amazing, how so many of the people who make us laugh, have such tragedy in their lives. The original cast of Saturday Night Live was such a gifted group it is so painful to lose any of them. Gilda Radner was so funny, with her different characters, those comedy bits can never be duplicated because nobody could do the characters like Gilda. When Gilda died, it wasn't just one person we lost. We also lost Lisa Lupner and all the other characters that we knew and loved.

We loved that Gilda. I can hear her playing da fiddle!
CastleBee 01/31/2001
Gilda was one of the brightest stars on the original SNL - Rosanne Roseanna Dana, Emily Latella, Lisa Lubener - to name only a few of her memorable and brilliant characterizations. She also gave you the feeling she was a really nice and decent person. A sad loss for the world of comedy and the world at large.
