Bell had a good career, but the majority of it was spent in Toronto, and only played with the Cubs for a very brief time at the end, should be on a Greatest Blue Jay list instead.

Boy, this guy was a handlful. Living in Toronto at the time, it was clear that the city sports media had never dealt with an ego like Bell's. He moaned, he shouted, he threw things, he told the media to kiss his purple butt. He played left field like a bag of toys but held the team ransom when he refused to play DH. Sure, he had a great bat and brought Toronto some recognition with his MVP and some playoff births but the city breathed a collective sigh of relief when he left. A trade with the Padres brought us Joe Carter, the very antithesis of Bell, and the man I feel was most responsible for bringing Toronto it's World Series titles. Plus, the baseball gods smiled on Toronto for enduring Bell. He returned as a Cub for the '91 All-Star Game at Toronto. Jays closer Tom Henke struck him out swinging in his only at bat.

The greatest trade in Chicago history was when Bell went to the Chisox and Sammy Sosa came to the Cubs. The next year Bell was out of baseball and Sammy played a dozen years with the Cubs.

Good hitter. Butcher in the field. Headcase. Not exactly the total package.
