I think target is just an expensive wal-mart. For those people who are afraid to say they shop at wal-mart. Target is very pricy for just about anything, and although they are trying to update the lay out constantly, they have a bad way of doing it. Every time I have gone into a target that is in the middle of an update/remodel, you can’t even get your cart through the aisles. I also hate the way the clothes from target fit, and they don’t last very long.

I like the stores and I've never had a problem. The only reason I'm not going five stars is the prices are higher than other stores.

Target is an overall nice place to shop. It's usually very clean and employees seem willing to help. MUCH better than its competitors: Kohls and Macy's. Both Kohls and Macy's are lousy places to shop. Go to Target!

The stores generally look clean and decently organized...however, their prices are horrible. You can get the exact same brands of a lot of things at Wal-Mart for substantially cheaper. When I go to Target, I rarely buy anything because of the prices. Their selection isn't that great on most things and there have been many times when I've went there for something and they didn't carry it or their selection sucked and I ended up going elsewhere. I have to say that a lot of their home decor is as ugly as a monkey's butt. I said this in another review, but I think that a lot of people just buy that ugly crap because they're told that's what the latest trend is and they feel they have to be "trendy", not because they really like it. Honestly, you can bash Wal-Mart all you want, but if you choose to pay a lot more at Target for the exact same thing you could get at Wal-Mart for significantly cheaper, you're a fool. Honestly, I think Target takes advantage of the negative myths being... Read more

One story I'll always be willing to share is the story my mother and grandmother both told me. On the first day this store opened in Hampton, Georgia, they were there. They looked at just about everything, and they noticed all of the meat was old and already changing color. That's pretty bad for the first day. Since then, their lettuce has looked brown and rotting every time I go, and their meat almost always looks wrong in some deformed, mad scientist kind of way. They don't have a very big selection either. My grandfather wanted beans once, and also had to get some back ointment for my grandmother. Well, Target only has two types of beans, and they didn't have the ointment either. I also don't like their computer games section. My mom and I are pretty big Nancy Drew players and they never have the new ones. The same goes for quite a few other games that I don't see at Target, yet see at Walmart and Best Buy. Every time I go, I see the same thing over and over in different sections.... Read more

I used to enjoy shopping at Target. They had a number of brands, such as Cherokee that seemed to have some decent material to it, not too thin. They no long carry the Cherokee brand. The clothing that they have is cheap and the material is thin. I am very disappointed. They are starting to look more and more like K-Mart all the time. There is no where for me to sent them a note of complaint. There stock has gone down since they have made these clothing line changes. Rather than go back to a more substantial clothing line, they think that the they need to put more effort into selling their daily living items. They do not seem to make the connection to their change to the cheaper brand/s in clothing.

Target has cheap prices on decent clothes occasionally, and is really the only thing that I buy there. The soft-drinks are also well priced sometimes, but overall the service is not good, but the checkout lanes are fairly fast and there is a lot of them.

Great selection of merchandise presented in an organized and easy to navigate fashion. Target always seems to have what I need and I enjoy shopping in a nice clean and modern looking environment. The pricing is just attractive enough to keep me from subjecting myself to the freak fest better known as Walmart unless it is an emergency. The only thing Target has left me frustrated with is the lack of self checkout lines for small and medium sized purchases. It wouldn't really bother me if they were ever staffed enough to handle to volume of business they get but come on people; one cashier for a 100,000 square foot retail giant?? Target is certainly not the only retailer to operate this way so I can't really give them too much of a hard time over it. All in all, a pretty god place to get your shopping done and enjoy a Starbucks coffee at the same time!

I love Target. Shopping at Target is sooo much better than shopping at Wal-Mart. The associates are willing to help & are friendly unlike Wal-Mart employees who just look at you like you are speaking another language or you are an inconvenience to them. The quality of products are better at Target too. You can purchase the same products for lower prices at Target since they price match & have sales. Also, if you have to return something at Target, you are not treated like a criminal (like at Wal-Mart, getting stopped at the door for 5 minutes to get a sticker, then after waiting in line forever, you get the third degree from the cashier like you are scamming them). The associates are smarter & work faster at Target. The store is clean & organized. Isles are clear. The overall experience is just better at Target. The employees are nicer & the other customers are nicer too.

Target is awesome! Very good product there. I've been out looking for a Laptop bag that would fit my Dell 17" Laptop. Been around to some other stores, BestBuy etc. Could not find anything that was light enough for me to carry around day to day but had enough carrying space for documents, ipod, cd's, etc. Came across the Embark Messenger Bag at Target's Luggage section. First... This is not blue; it's a dark grey. Very nice construction. Heavy nylon. Feels very secure. My laptop fits snug, but easy to remove. Has a velcro strap thing to secure to latch it in, but the stitching is so phenomenal that I use it for leverage while I fit the laptop. Interior lining is an orange color; very cool. You can see everything in there. The perfect size. Not bulky at all. Has a padded area for the laptop, another sleeve next to it, and the top flap has a wide pocket, and on the front there are 2 sizable pockets which I use for wireless mouse, thumb drive, and a couple dvd's. There's... Read more

We recently went to Target with my Grandma and her friend, and we bought a chair that rocks and swivels around. The hauled it to the car after we payed for it, and there were 2 guys helping to unload. One guy was very careful and helpful, and the other was really rude. My Grandmother asked thwm is there any instructions for it, and the rude guy said very rudely, "YOU DON'T NEED INSTRUTIONS!" When he said that i was sitting in the back seat waiting, and i wanted to get out an just yell "screw you!" to the guy, But I kept out of it. When we got to her fiends apartment, we were about to put it together and noticed there were no screw, nuts, or bolts to put the chairs together, and we noticed the same thing abou the chair my Grandma had [it was a 2 pack of chairs] and called Target. They said to cone back to target and they would fix it. i stayed behind at the house after being dropped of. Now, this is what my Grandma said happend once she got there: They opened up a brand new box of th... Read more

Good prices, good environment (especially compared to walmart.), a variety of items, and good service. They just have to work on making sure that the product is organized a little better. (It's just a little wierd when tote bags are marked as shovels.)

We bought a PS3 from Target in November. We were sold and extended warranty "If we can't repair it, we'll replace it" at the time of purchase. Now it is May and the PS3 stopped working. I called Target and they said to bring it in and we'll replace it. I lugged it into the store and a different girl said "Oh, that was http://www.insiderpages.com/businesses/15241923244/ reviews/new#. She's new and didn't know better. We can't replace it because you are outside 90 days". I showed them the extended warranty, the receipt, everything. "Sorry, you can call the warranty people." I did call the warranty people and they said "Sorry, you need to take it up with Sony." Seems that the warranty only applies AFTER the first year. They said review T & Cs. I did. No mention of anything like that. Plus, it was not sold that way. The value proposition was that we could take it to Target and save the hassle of dealing with Sony. Obviously, it was a lie to assist the sales person in winning a spiff or hit... Read more

Do NOT shop Target online. Shipping time is horrible compared to others such as Amazon.com, Kohls.com etc. In addition, their customer service was the WORST! When I attempted to find out when I would get my my items they basically told me ----when I get them!

I ordered a White Detergent Container eb 18, 2008 for a friend and they have delayed the shipment for twice. Today is 5/19/08, 3 months from the order date and I received yet another email asking me to "approve" another delay. This is rediculous! My first experience with Target online and I will not EVER use them again. If they didn't have the item I ordered then why show it available? BAD customer service.

Target has an extremely limited amount of groceries (I hope the rumors about them expanding that section are true) and their clothes are cheaply made. I do love how they are neatly organized though. I always go there for pet products, toys, kitchen utensils, cosmetics and video games.I'd say if Target got better clothes and groceries they would be good competition for Meijer, Wal-Mart and other grocers here!!

I was charged twice when I purchased only one item. I caught it before leaving the store so I talked to a supervisor about it because the salesperson was with a line of customers. She refunded me for the item but seemed annoyed that I found the mistake.

Their casual junior clothes are tacky and teeshirt material so thin you can see through it. How much cheaper can they get? What are they doing, five threads per inch? Decent variety of decorator goods, but still cheap quality overall.  The "furniture" is joke. My friend used to work in one of Target's distribution centers and she hated it. FYI: if you have a Farm & Fleet nearby, they carry Carter's baby clothing and it's pretty reasonable there.

I love super Target. clean, open aisles, great grocery selection that's fresh. I haven't had any trouble returning items for refunds or store credits. they have really improved the baby department and the toy department has always been awesome. The men's and young men's clothing is more stylish looking and unique than Walmart and wears really well. Limited selection in maternity and plus sizes unfortuately. otherwise, Target would be 5 star

I agree with the worst return policy ever!! I did have the receipt for my item, which was Xhilaration sunglasses. They totally fell apart about 1 week after buying them. I tried to return them but the Return Sales Associate could not find the exact same kind on the sunglass rack, so she could not verify these were the exact same sunglasses I bought. Most ridiculous thing I ever heard...told me to come back when the Xhilaration rep restocks the display and them maybe I'll be able to find a duplicate. I'm sure this will be after the alloted time I have to make a return. Customer service and arrogance will start taking them downhill from here...

Target as a whole is a great place. Spouse works at Target and helps to bring down the prices a little better for us with their discount for employees. You can always count on every 6 weeks the dollar spot changing its goodies. One thing that is NOT the same with every store is the friendly service. There are a few around here that I refuse to go to if we are in the area as they are the least friendly and least approchable people. Yet other stores every employee that you cross asks you if they can help you find something.

Target is yet another big corporation which caters only to the bottom line. It hires illegal aliens without regard to the ramifications of this practice to local economies, and our country overall. It allows illegals to claim several exemptions on their W4 forms, without proof of their existences. Then, the illegals do not file taxes. Target's only concern is that it gets the tax credits for these illegals. Claiming it must accept illegals' proofs of eligibility to work should fall on deaf ears, as the so-called "documents" can be checked for veracity. Target simply chooses not to do so. Do not shop here. Support our country, not the illegal aliens.

This is a good store. It is usually clean, in fact, probably one of the cleanest stores Ive been to, things are well displayed and there is always a new, clean smell in Target. The prices are average but tend to be a little pricey when it comes to clothes. But Target have good quality clothes and there is a more professional element to Target. Eg if you want to know how you look in something (ie when you are going clothes shopping), they are honest with you and tell you. The range of products is average ie they have what you want usually, but there are sometimes when they dont have the thing you want.

I'm old enough to remember it used to be called Dayton-Hudson. The once Midwest-only chain is an archtypical business-case success story and is now nationwide and targeting the evil empire of Wal-Marts (which always reminded me of the USSR's GUM stores in terms of quality and organization) for #1 among the big-box retail chains. It is my store of choice. Key to Target's success is better quality goods, nice store layout, and a slick marketing campaign. Sometimes referred to mockingly as "Tar-jet," as a place for pseudo-rich customers seeking high-falutin' quality goods for less shekels.
