We recently went to Target with my Grandma and her friend, and we bought a chair that rocks and swivels around. The hauled it to the car after we payed for it, and there were 2 guys helping to unload. One guy was very careful and helpful, and the other was really rude. My Grandmother asked thwm is there any instructions for it, and the rude guy said very rudely, "YOU DON'T NEED INSTRUTIONS!" When he said that i was sitting in the back seat waiting, and i wanted to get out an just yell "screw you!" to the guy, But I kept out of it. When we got to her fiends apartment, we were about to put it together and noticed there were no screw, nuts, or bolts to put the chairs together, and we noticed the same thing abou the chair my Grandma had [it was a 2 pack of chairs] and called Target. They said to cone back to target and they would fix it. i stayed behind at the house after being dropped of. Now, this is what my Grandma said happend once she got there:They opened up a brand new box of the same chair at Target, and guess what they find? Screws, washers, nuts, bolts, and even............................................... ..... INSTUCTIONS!!!! AMAZING, HOW DID THEY DO THAT????? Anyway, the lady who helped her held all that in her hand and said to Grandma "come up to thwe front desk." After they were done, she had still had the stuff in her hand all that tme, and finally gave it to my Grandma. But whe we get home and she starts to put the chair together, we notice one of the packages of screws were open and pieces were missing. Today, she went back to buy the missing pieces at Target, and it took forever to finally find the section we needed to go to. once we were there though, there were no washers at all, except if you bought them in a pack of several differnt screws and stuff. We tried to find two DVD's she wanted, and they had neither they were all gone. This particular Target in michigan is hoorible, but the ones in Memphis are fine.

Good prices, good environment (especially compared to walmart.), a variety of items, and good service. They just have to work on making sure that the product is organized a little better. (It's just a little wierd when tote bags are marked as shovels.)

We bought a PS3 from Target in November. We were sold and extended warranty "If we can't repair it, we'll replace it" at the time of purchase. Now it is May and the PS3 stopped working. I called Target and they said to bring it in and we'll replace it. I lugged it into the store and a different girl said "Oh, that was http://www.insiderpages.com/businesses/15241923244/ reviews/new#. She's new and didn't know better. We can't replace it because you are outside 90 days". I showed them the extended warranty, the receipt, everything. "Sorry, you can call the warranty people." I did call the warranty people and they said "Sorry, you need to take it up with Sony." Seems that the warranty only applies AFTER the first year. They said review T & Cs. I did. No mention of anything like that. Plus, it was not sold that way. The value proposition was that we could take it to Target and save the hassle of dealing with Sony. Obviously, it was a lie to assist the sales person in winning a spiff or hitting his warranty quota. Target is refusing to budge, so we will be http://www.insiderpages.com/businesses/15241923244/ reviews/new# our Target account, my relatives will be cancelling theirs and my department at Hewlett Packard will stop buying there ($200k per year). They screwed the wrong guy this time. Take your business elsewhere.

Walmart is cheaper (only by a few cents most of the time) but Target is a far better store. I also worked for them for 18 months and they treat their employees well.
numbah16tdhaha 12/05/2008
Lots of good Star Wars toys. UPDATE: I think those giving bad reviews just didn't manage to snag the Target exclusives like Commander Fox. I could be wrong, but the only reason I can come up with NOT to hit Target is that the one in my neighborhood is also frequented by my most notorious ex...

The Target in my town is horrible. They never have anything I am looking for.
LadyJesusFan77 7 12/04/2008
I don't shop at Target very much because it really isn't very convenient. Plus, you can find pretty much the same item at other stores that offer better prices.
lolaita 12/02/2008
do not ever try to get a job at target in the steelyard they are raceist
libracance 10/03/2008
Do NOT shop Target online. Shipping time is horrible compared to others such as Amazon.com, Kohls.com etc. In addition, their customer service was the WORST! When I attempted to find out when I would get my my items they basically told me ----when I get them!
grannyhaggard 05/19/2008
I ordered a White Detergent Container eb 18, 2008 for a friend and they have delayed the shipment for twice. Today is 5/19/08, 3 months from the order date and I received yet another email asking me to "approve" another delay. This is rediculous! My first experience with Target online and I will not EVER use them again. If they didn't have the item I ordered then why show it available? BAD customer service.
123emilysmith9 16 05/13/2008
The online purchase experience I had was very good. They had what I wanted and had no problems. This website is very good because you can purchase in the comfort of your home.
crAZkevin 03/22/2008
great store, on a lot of things better prices than Walmart and Costco. REALLY good prices on clothes...
kmcmecmdc 03/06/2008
This would have to be my second most favorite store. I just don't like to think that I could go to Wal-Mart and sometimes get the same product or products cheaper.
Vudija 02/17/2008
Not bad --- sometimes a bit more pricey than its competitors, but even with that said; their merchandise if of a better quality.
XAgent 02/17/2008
They have a nice selection and have some good deals.
eyebrowqueen23 02/17/2008
Target has an extremely limited amount of groceries (I hope the rumors about them expanding that section are true) and their clothes are cheaply made. I do love how they are neatly organized though. I always go there for pet products, toys, kitchen utensils, cosmetics and video games.
I'd say if Target got better clothes and groceries they would be good competition for Meijer, Wal-Mart and other grocers here!!
X Factor Z 12/27/2007
More like an upscale WalMart?
USADude 09/11/2007
The most consistantly good department store in America.
Leisal 09/03/2007
I was charged twice when I purchased only one item. I caught it before leaving the store so I talked to a supervisor about it because the salesperson was with a line of customers. She refunded me for the item but seemed annoyed that I found the mistake.
Rating2Help 08/02/2007
Their casual junior clothes are tacky and teeshirt material so thin you can see through it. How much cheaper can they get? What are they doing, five threads per inch? Decent variety of decorator goods, but still cheap quality overall. The "furniture" is joke. My friend used to work in one of Target's distribution centers and she hated it. FYI: if you have a Farm & Fleet nearby, they carry Carter's baby clothing and it's pretty reasonable there.
opal1971 04/25/2007
Bottom line: Great prices and selection.
BootDeepintheS outh 02/08/2007
I love super Target. clean, open aisles, great grocery selection that's fresh. I haven't had any trouble returning items for refunds or store credits. they have really improved the baby department and the toy department has always been awesome. The men's and young men's clothing is more stylish looking and unique than Walmart and wears really well. Limited selection in maternity and plus sizes unfortuately. otherwise, Target would be 5 star
oyea 02/04/2007
I agree with the worst return policy ever!! I did have the receipt for my item, which was Xhilaration sunglasses. They totally fell apart about 1 week after buying them. I tried to return them but the Return Sales Associate could not find the exact same kind on the sunglass rack, so she could not verify these were the exact same sunglasses I bought. Most ridiculous thing I ever heard...told me to come back when the Xhilaration rep restocks the display and them maybe I'll be able to find a duplicate. I'm sure this will be after the alloted time I have to make a return. Customer service and arrogance will start taking them downhill from here...

Target as a whole is a great place. Spouse works at Target and helps to bring down the prices a little better for us with their discount for employees. You can always count on every 6 weeks the dollar spot changing its goodies. One thing that is NOT the same with every store is the friendly service. There are a few around here that I refuse to go to if we are in the area as they are the least friendly and least approchable people. Yet other stores every employee that you cross asks you if they can help you find something.
Sportsguy24 12/04/2006
I just love Target. I want to work there someday. I live near a Supertarget. It's great.. It has alot more room to shop than Wal-Mart...
MacNinni 11/13/2006
Target is yet another big corporation which caters only to the bottom line. It hires illegal aliens without regard to the ramifications of this practice to local economies, and our country overall. It allows illegals to claim several exemptions on their W4 forms, without proof of their existences. Then, the illegals do not file taxes. Target's only concern is that it gets the tax credits for these illegals. Claiming it must accept illegals' proofs of eligibility to work should fall on deaf ears, as the so-called "documents" can be checked for veracity. Target simply chooses not to do so. Do not shop here. Support our country, not the illegal aliens.

Target is overrated. It's basically a slightly more expensive version of Wal-Mart with a slightly smaller selection.
excelsior30 10/11/2006
This conglomerate is one that I can agree with. Very good prices, everything is in order in every store and nice quality for all the clothes. I may apply for a job there.
doobiesNhof 09/08/2006
I give Target 5 stars for cleanliness, pricing and selection but a 1 for the way they treat their employees (like crap).
mrfurious 08/13/2006
target is a good store, you can find stuff at target that you can't find at all the other stores (age of sail II privateer's bounty)
shroomy soup 06/17/2006
This store is great. You can get a lot of good stuff at a reasonable price here. Now they have a frozen food section like your average supermarket! If they keep adding things like this, they could dominate for years to come.
Gentle Jude 06/17/2006
This is a good store. It is usually clean, in fact, probably one of the cleanest stores Ive been to, things are well displayed and there is always a new, clean smell in Target. The prices are average but tend to be a little pricey when it comes to clothes. But Target have good quality clothes and there is a more professional element to Target. Eg if you want to know how you look in something (ie when you are going clothes shopping), they are honest with you and tell you. The range of products is average ie they have what you want usually, but there are sometimes when they dont have the thing you want.
alpepper 06/16/2006
I'm old enough to remember it used to be called Dayton-Hudson. The once Midwest-only chain is an archtypical business-case success story and is now nationwide and targeting the evil empire of Wal-Marts (which always reminded me of the USSR's GUM stores in terms of quality and organization) for #1 among the big-box retail chains. It is my store of choice. Key to Target's success is better quality goods, nice store layout, and a slick marketing campaign. Sometimes referred to mockingly as "Tar-jet," as a place for pseudo-rich customers seeking high-falutin' quality goods for less shekels.
natyrm 05/10/2006
I like all the staff they sell because the are thinking in design in each single thing, so you can find everything that match with your style.
roro80o72 04/06/2006
i love target it has trendy storage and other things for your home it has cothes that i usally wouldnt buy but sometimes a pair of sweatpants its like walmart but not as trashy target is more organized and not confusing it also clean and smells goos walmart always smells like there bathrooms walmart is also very not organized target on the other hand is organized and clean i love it
Silver Eagle 252 03/26/2006
My favorite store that has just about everything. It is bright, spacious and trendy. On top of this, Target is a case study in business success.
L67Atlanta 03/09/2006
Oh, boo hoo, I have to KEEP MY RECEIPT IF I WANT MONEY BACK. Newsflash: Wal-Mart does the exact same thing now. No, you bitching won't get you a GiftCard. No, you threatening to call corporate will not change my mind, but sure, you can talk to an LOD so she can tell you the exact same thing I just got done saying. UGH. IS IT THAT DIFFICULT TO KEEP A PIECE OF PAPER?
cwhite329 02/02/2006
I am beginning to love this store alot more than Wal-Mart. They have nicer clothing at similar prices and the Targets I've been to are always cleaner than Wal-Mart.
NikkiMcKibbin 01/05/2006
Wish I could give it 0 stars. Worst return policy ever, they just assume that you either stole it or are trying to cheat them. Never shopping there again.
a1sspiked 12/28/2005
The men's department is slim pickings unless of course your 13 or need athelic wear. Have some cool things, not a place to go if you want a constant ever-changing array of clothes.
decalod85 11/30/2005
Always clean and well organized, associates are helpful.
zuchinibut 11/29/2005
The prices at Target are usually good and the quality is decent. I shop there more often than other department stores, but mostly out of convenience. One complaint I do have is that if you return an item without a receipt, they make you exchance the item that same day in the same department. So if you wanted to return an item from electronics, you would have to get an additional item from electronics that day. It is a lot more inconvenient than if they just issued you a gift card for the balance.
XxAngiexX 11/29/2005
I don't really care for this store. Sometimes they have interesting things that you can't find anywhere else but when you are looking for an average item that could be found in most stores they either don't have it or they charge a lot more for it. Also the lines are always so long.
KmartShopper 11/28/2005
Terrible store. Employees goof off and talk with their friends instead of helping customers. I needed help in electronics section but I couldn't find anyone. I found a few teenage employees in the next department over, toys, who where fooling around with each other and told me to wait at the electronics counter and someone would be there soon. Nobody came and after 5 minutes i left. Maybe other Targets are better but the one by me is not worth going to.
sfalconer 11/21/2005
Ten time cleaner then Walmart but the help is about as good. Fairly good selection and prices are reasonable.
NJMommy 11/03/2005
I don't have a Target near me but I have been there twice before. My main concern with the store is that they have plenty of registers to use but only open up 2 of them with lines that were going out into the aisle. A young employees asked the supervisor if they wanted him to open up and they told him in a nasty voice, "No go back to the electronics department with stocking!" I don't really have many opportunities to shop here but if i did I wouldn't anyway.
recolection 10/29/2005
I don't know how they are on sweat-shops, but they have good products at good prices.
BowChikaWowWow 10/24/2005
targets a great store cheap prices and very clean the only problem is is that they never have enough cashiers
