His leadership skills are becoming legendary. He leads us where we need to go, not necessarily where we want to go. That makes a good leader stand out among others.

Fine leadership if his nose doesn't fall out of Cheney's butt

Leadership is having a vision, convincing others of the virtue of your vision and following through on it's implementation. It's standing tall in times of peril and staying steadfast to your principles when the going gets tough. George Bush is consistently successful because he's extremely capable of summoning people to his cause and following through on it's implementation. His detractors disdain him for his ability to do so. The level of distain amongst those who dislike his policies is equally proportionate to his ability to successfully lead upon his vision to their implementation.

He doesn't lead and he doesn't have sense enough to do it on his own. He follows the direction his daddy points him in.

President Bush has 4 more years given to him by the moral majority that supported his leadership values..... I SHALL SAY NO MORE. *smirk*

A real leader makes you feel you want to go where he goes....Bush has the opposite effect.

Leadership is more than merely claiming you're a leader. Politics is a smoke and mirrors act, but there's more to it underneath. What makes a leader the person to follow? Bush's leadership style is instinctual as opposed to intellectual--the former is far more effective than thoughfulness. Unfortunately following the intinctual approach leads to mistakes. People would rather feel that they have a strong leader rather than actually have one! Weird how perception is in life. Reality is that Bush is a weak leader, one who cannot even confront views that oppose his own. The man essentially likes to have a lot of yes men surrounding him as opposed to people that will give him objective analysis rooted in fact. Indeed, those are the types he dismisses. From mid level bureaucrats to top cabinet members, those who voice even a slight concern about the rigid ideological approach of this White House are first marginalized and when it's convienient they're dismissed. Now those folks in the Pentagon who were responsible for planning the Iraq War, which has been a disaster overall, remain nicely perched in their old position. I will tell you what leadership is; it's being man enough to admit that you've made mistakes and are willing to correct them. John F. Kennedy dismissed the CIA planners who had organized the botched Bay of Pigs. Instead of being even remotely honest about this, Bush continues to peddle the same stuff about Iraq being an imminent security threat. No heads have rolled because of this disinformation campaign that was started after 9/11. Where's the true leadership in that? Leadership is more than going on a hunch, more than cheap and contrived bravado. When it comes to the bare bones of it all, Bush has not done well in the leadership test.

One key part of Leadership is not only to get your supporters to follow you, but mainly to be able to get a fair portion of your opponents, or neutral parties to also follow you. I just don't see jr accompishing this, especially when compared with his peers, ex-Presidents. Is jr building bridges? Or is he a divider? By the way (& w/ all due respect), I've gotta ask the moderator this: If he is 'an exceptional leader', then why did you only give jr 3-stars?

Leader? Ha! When his advisors ask him what to do he asks, What do YOU think I should do?. Seriously, I'm aware that that did happen on one occasion.

I you valued good-old-boy leadership then you can't believe that Gen Powell has any influence and it's too bad he doesn't. He definitley is a flunky for Cheney. The rest of the crowd are just flunkies. Reacting to posts above as below. For white, culturally conservative, born-again Christians, Bush is a leader. For the rest of us, he's not. He can't lead, he is told what to do, by Channey (sic), and Gen. Powell, what a shame, I sure hope he doesn't get in office again.

He is leading the ship to the bottom of the ocean. Just standing around saying "I am right because I got the biggest gun" will backfire, and WE will suffer the consequences.

I think that Bush is a pretty good leader. He outlines his plans and his focuses well. Just one question- why are we sending millions to Africa when there are so many problems here?

Overall, Bush is an exceptional LEADER. When I think of this man building a little league field on the White House lawn and his predacessor chasing skirts and lying for a living, I already think that he is a better leader than we had from 1993-2001. I don't agree with 70% of the man's politics, but I think that, when he puts his mind to it, he is worthy of leadership. His leadership following 9/11 in the War on Terror has been exemplary. However, he does not seem to be exhibiting much economic and social leadership here in our own country. President Bush is a leader in his own right and knows whats best in some areas and in some areas he does not. He had the guts to stand up to the U.N., which was simply France and China waving their veto power in our faces. He did what he thought was right with Iraq, and he had the brass to defy Communist China and the all-too often bailed out France. Our wallets may be a bit thinner, but perhaps our homeland will be safer in the future. A leader in some areas more than others.

During the campaign in 2000 I had deep fears that the GOP had elected the wrong nominee, and when he moved into the White House I feared he would be the spoiled little slacker he was long ago and would half-ass and pander his way along as nothing but a product of his handlers. But, I believe now that my fears were completely groundless. I surely was not expecting such profound conviction, unwavering leadership and honest confidence. The popularity and apparently high morale of his team is not without cause; they all have confidence that their clearly differing opinions on various issues are taken heavily into their leader's consideration. I misjudged him, and I'm proud that I voted for him.

Has developed a broad and innovative vision, based upon classic and tested principles. Assembled a team of immensely qualified individuals and quickly created a disciplined team. I would think that even the people here that dislike Bush's policies would acknowledge that he's been far more successful than Clinton (and his father for that matter) at getting his agenda implented. You Dem's either have to give Bush some props for skillful leadership, or else you must believe your representatives are complete morons who get steamrollered on every issue (by someone you think is a dunce). But I guess logic and consistency aren't exactly Dems' strengths....

He protects America. Good. He is pushing to bomb Iraq. Bad. Start a war? Bad. Wants to punish Bin Ladin and Saddam for their crimes. Good. Whatever.

Bush and his administration are going to lead this country right into Nuclear War, which puts the whole planet at risk. The rest of the planet sees this but the Bush administration doesn't.

Bush is led by a cohort of hyper-conservatives (Ashcroft, et. al.), and is not himself capable of leading except as window dressing for the powers that control him.

This rates two stars only because he has been surprisingly effective in getting what he wants, and that's leadership--of a sort. But a true leader uses his position for the betterment of all his people, not to enrich himself and his cronies at everyone else's expense.
