I have tried this reposado tequila several times. It is very inconsistent. Sometimes good, sometimes terrible. Buy it for the bottle if you think that the bottle is worth $80.00, the tequila isn't worth it.  Smooth and easy to drink at best, watery and plain at worst. Make up you mind PA. You need a new distillery with people who know how to make Tequila to be worth $80+.

I have been tasting tequilas for 10 years now, yet I consider myself FAR from an officionado. I have tasted some very good Tequilas, and there are still many more I have yet to sample. I just received a bottle of Penca Azul Anejo 2007 Reserva (bottle #554 of 720) as a gift. It may be the best I have ever had. It is oakey, complex and smooth. My first sip (neat) tasted astonishingly like a fine single-malt scotch, but then the soul of agave revealed itself in the aftertaste. The warming of my head and chest were very scotch or brandy-like, as well. I then chilled the Penca Azul, and found that to be even more delicious and delightful, with a sweeter, more honey-like taste. This is a very detailed. complex and soulful Tequila, whose artistic hand-crafting is embodied in the liquor, and evident in the lovely hand-blown glass bottle. A beautiful Tequila! FIVE STARS!

Competitors comments regarding "piss" obviously. Tequilla is an art form when created correctly. Penca is well made and has excellent flavor and finish.

Cold tastes better and the bottle is almost a collectionist item, a work of craftsmanship; just like the art involved in preparing this tequila... you will be able to speak in six languages after drinking it!
