One of the premier arenas in the country. When Mackey is packed, the atmosphere is always charged. The student section? The best in the country, hands down.

Of course there isn't a bad seat in the house...no National Banners to get in the way!

Not a bad seat in the house, great for the up close and in your face crowd. My only problem is, why primo seats are given to sit on your hands alum who need more than just an occasional viagra.

you can see everywhere perfectly fine, when i'm at assembly hall and on the balcony, i literally have to bend over to see the court!  i hate that friggen place!  i wish mackey arena was iu's court!

Not a bad seat in the house, the natural circular design channels sound throught the arena. I like how the court is set into the ground, and you can see it as soon as you walk in the door. Even in the top row you are very close to the court, unlike Indiana's mediocre Assembly Hall. Seating 14,123, it's the perfect example of quality over quantity (IU again). It's awesome being able to hear Coach Gene Keady or Coach Matt Painter yell onto the court above all of the crowd noise. Unique ball hall fit for one thing: great college hoops.

From up top it looks like a movie theatre, but I truly like it circular design and red and gold exerior. no wonder it has been established as one of the special arenas in the Big 10.
