Good news, Zoloft does prevent depression! However, it will also prevent you from having much emotion at all. I used to be such a creative person full of energy and now I have little to know emotion, creativity or energy (I have to get 8-10 hours of sleep per night and take a nap in the afternoon)! Plus, for all of you who were depressed about your sex life (no more worry) because you won't be having much of that either! Even if you do have sex, you won't feel much of anything (no orgasms for you)! Zoloft can make you feel like a walking zombie, sometimes I feel like I am in a fake version of my life! I think I shoud go talk to my psychopharmacologist!

well, my dr. prescribed it because i was having mood stability problems. So i guess i cant be blamed for his stupidity. it says right on the label it causes mania in bipolar people. but igive it a low rating because it made my sex drive a zero and my boyfriend's penis stopped working as well when he was on it.

Worked for a few years until the DR put me on Lexapro.

This has been a wonder drug for me. I am still on a low dose at 50 mg. but it has taken away my social anxiety and as an added plus has made me happier than I ever have been. There are a lot of bad things said about this drug out there, but you have to understand that taking antidepressant is a trial and error thing, you have to find what works for your body chemistry.

I was highly allergic to this pill and it cause me to have a big itchy fit when I was about 14. I itched for days and I was all read and bumpy all over and my chest kept sweating and I was really shaky! No one can get a handle on my allergies. If you printed out my allergy list it would be about 100 or more feet long! I have gotten probed alot in my life and tested on extensivly. I have never seen so many needles!!!

I agree with the dude and the sexual side effects. Antidepressants will ruin your sex life if your a male. Almost impossible to maintain and erection. DIE ANTI-DEPRESSANT DRUG MAKERS!!!

My doctor prescribed these for bipolar disorder (which is a bit of quackery as I understand it now) and they sucked. They DE-stabilized me more than anything. They took away the lows but the highs were so fidgety that I was unable to sleep for days at a time. Also, they made it hard for me to have sex with my girlfriend. I could maintain an erection but orgasms were impossible so sex seemed like an annoying chore to me and it ruined our relationship. I suppose they work for some people but they sucked for me.

A LIFE SAVER!!! I was depressed for over 2 years and when my doctor finally gave me this after trying many other drugs and it worked miracles. I have not had any side effect except if I run out for a few days, then I feel a little weird, but that happens with all the anti-depressents. Wonderful drug, and I honestly don't know if I would be here without it!
