I bought my first Commodore in 1979 and still have it. I had lots of neat games that I played on it that I still like. I wish I could figure out a way to transfer the games to my present computer. It was amazing what the developers could do with 39k free space of RAM.

All I remember about these is that these were considered the 'bad computers' in our elementary school computer lab. The 'good computers' were Apples. Doesn't say much about the 64's. On the plus side, Oregon Trail kicked a little ass.

What a piece of crap this was, I would not keep my door open with one of these things. We use to say Commodore was like McDonalds worst product best marketing. At the time and for the price the Atari's were much better machines. They were built better and the graphics was heck of a lot better. The 64 was cheaper and had more software but it was pretty worthless.

Nice piece of electronics to have back in the 70s and early to mid 80s. I use to have a Commodore 64 and I gotta say I had alot of fun with it over the years......I sold it in 1990 for $250 at our garage sale and the People who bought it couldn't believe I was selling for only $250 quote Your selling a whole computer system, with software, a printer, monitor and games They asked what's the catch here I told them no catch wanted to get rid of it.... I didn't have the heart to tell them the catch is, it is a 1982 Commodore 64, lol..... I didn't have the heart to tell them, I would have sold it all day for $50 too....Oh well

The predecessor to the brilliant Amiga was definitely one of the greatest machines in history. It's games may have taken ages to load, but face it, they were DAMN ADDICTIVE! The games of today may be graphical masterpeices, but most of them just lose their appeal within a few hours of play. The games of the old C64 were amongst the most addictive ever. The sprites may be blocky and the sounds electronic, but the games of the C64 era knew that playability and design was the trademark of a good game, something that far too many games today lack. The C64 simply put everything else to shame in it's day, and in some ways puts today's machines to shame too. It proves that you don't need 500 spinning camera angles and a controller with 20 buttons to make a good game.
