Fun time killer til you finally realize how sad it is. You just repeat a repetitive mind-numbing chore to push up a level, with only Quests to break the monotony, but before the moment of truth, usually a few months to a few years after you start, it's addicting and fun. Too bad you're surrounded by a bunch of moody/selfish teenagers.

i like runescape but somethings about it i do not like

Maybe I am just old but their attempt at 3D graphics just makes me dizzy. Seems my sight was always blocked by something and every task includes walking a long distance. The map is too big. You have to stock up on teleport runes and still you spend more than half the game at/walking to the bank..... Then when I got a three day mute for telling some little kid to get lost and find their own spot to fight, I completely lost interest...... The community is mean and selfish and they do not share nice.... It is like waiting in line at a store and someone pushing ahead of you (because they can), then laughing at you and saying "pawned!" or "owned!"... Like 10 times a visit..

bad graphics in comparison to WOW, but what more can you ask for, for a FREE-Browserbased-no-need-to-download-to-play-ONLINE-game. its too addicting, due to its gameplay which is basically repetive tasks to achieve higher level. but it has SO MANY different things you can do, like cook or fight or runecraft, quests, chat with friends, or even report people who spew bad language , that you can spend time on, if you are looking to play something during the summer holidays 24/hrs, then this is the game for you, otherwise dont waste the time you could go out and socialise and excersise and spend it on a useless time waster prioritize ur time. :D

An amazing but addicting game. I'm nearing the end of many goals and i find myself thinking why the hell did i waste my time doing all of this. I was so excited for my first 99(strength) and am excited for every 99 i achieve. But i'm only excited for a short while and then find myself bored again. It's boring but addicting, if you value your soul don't play runescape! =D lol

the best of them all great game play just need to fix up the wildy and trading sytem.

  I played Runescape for nearly a year and a half from july 06' to december 07'.  I have to say it was very addictive and incredible fun at first.  But things went downhill in the waning days that i played.  Jagex, who makes Runescape, put stupid updates into the game that no one asked for, expecting people to like them and got all pissed off whenever someone complained.  They cared more about banning people for minor offences rather than making the game a fun thing to play.  Then there's the fear of getting your account hacked.  Jagex removed too many fun aspects from the game and that hurt innocent players, just to get rid of autoers/bots - which didn't work by the way. 

Playing Runescape is like getting invited to an island paradise, and the government saying to you, "Okay, we're glad you came, please enjoy your stay, but while you are here, watch out for rebels. We will be bombing the hell out of  this island to eradicate them.  They're bugging the other quests.  We will do anything to stop them, and if you are somehow caught in the crossfire, that is not our problem."

  RuneScape

RuneScape is a very fun game with many great aspects, like chat, combat and quests, some good aspects like graphics and gameplay, and one bad aspect, THE SKILL TRAINING. It has 24 skills, 194 quests as of August 2008, and over 200 NPCs, over 500 monsters and of course a large world with many different enviroments. Membership is only 5 dollars a month and brings more skills, quests, and areas, including Castles and of course your own HOUSE.

rs pwns so much beceause its like the biggest one about 27 skills and nice peeps (not to mention a zillon quests)so rs ftw aq sucks ms sucks wow is fine but ruins ur life

I tired this game a while ago, i personally think this game is a lil bit childish for adults, though there ARE many adults play this game. No good graphics,training skills is kinds of boring, the most important thing is that you cant do nothing without the damn rs gold, so i even tried to buy rs gp online, Oh, yeah, gotta recommend you guys there is a great site that seeling rs gold( www/viccol/com)... search it via google then they will show up ...VICCOL wont disppoint you!!! OO. back to the rate, i would give this game a 3 btw.

ok game but this is what happened to me : start just having a bit of fun ignoring morons , then i tell my friends , we became addicted (the game has addicting written all over it) we r non members one completes the non member game , quits , one carries on ( hes a now a member) I am close to catchin them up ( yes they over took me even tho i had a headstart of a bout 30 lvls) lose all mi money and all valubals get annoyed then just think ill leave this piece of crap and do something more forfilling than staring at a screen ruining hours of ur life , i meen why waste nearly half ur life on some thing that u get nothing good out of ( people keep scammin u also ) when u could be doing somethin a lot cooler. runescape WAS a good game, i actually liked it up until....A few months ago when they got rid of pking( people killing) the ability to fight other ppl in the wild(pvp area) and take their "sometimes" hard earned armor and weapons from them for free..If you killed them. Thats what made RS such an awesome game; the ability to own other players in multiplayer combat. THAT was what runescape was about. That stuff was complex too, ppl would come up with the best formulas and builds for their fighters i.e. str pures(best) def pures(evrythings gud until you get hit..once.) mage pures, archer pures etc.. My favorites was my mixed str hybrid.. But i never got to use him! They took away the wild b/c of RWT's, and put in its place a lame minigame arena with no levels and no skill so you can get owned by lvl 100's in one second. Now Runescape is Ruinedscape, besides the lame(no real monetary or ownage incentive) duels there is really nothin to do, thanks to the real world traders.

"don't judge a game by it's Graphics" WELL this game has TERRIBLE graphics and it's pretty hard NOT to judge it by it's graphics. The people look like a pre- schooler drew it while he/she was doodling aka not even trying to draw, it's just blocky and  ugly and the colors in this game make me want to puke.

The players is probably the worst part of this game, when your start and you want help and you ask a high leveled person they simply call you a N00b. They are annoying, really instead of being helpful they make this game seem like the number one place for bullies. I would suggest that you ignore them BUT that doesn't really work so what I ALWAYS try to do is fight back but that either gets me banned because I said a little swear OR I do something that is not allowed. Seriously. No, I am not a "Newbie" I have been play this game since 2001 or 2 that's right I have been playing longer than those idiots that keep on calling me a "N00b" I have gotten hacked,banned etc. so many times before. it's just not worth  it if you Don't have friends who play Runescape than don't even bother playing Runescape. Sooner or later those "n00b" friends you had will turn in to one of those high leveled brain dead morons who just love to pick on everyone that has a lower level than them. All I have to say is why don't we call them names? huh? if they have been playing so long to get to some high level,enough for them to waste years of  there lives than they should be the ones that are simply picked on and yes I have been playing for a very long time BUT u have taken breaks like weeks or months through the years I have NOT wasted every single day. Anyways enough of my rant.

Gameplay? all this game has is medcore quests that are dull I don't why people say this game is great you can't really even call it a game because basically all you'll end up doing there is talking to annoying teens who brag all day, kill some people, kill some animals and talk to people and no there is no Storyline but really, what did you expect.

You might be asking why I gave a game that you don't have to pay for the score 5/10 for value. Simple, because you can become a member but it's just not worth it and you end up wasting money, but really i'd rather spend $50 dollars on a game I will play for hours,months etc. than this peice of free crap.

I cannot stand this game if you like bad graphiced, no storylined, annoying people and just overall crappy games than I suggest you play it but for the other who are actually over the age of atleast 16 than I suggest you play some other game because really this game is just NOT worth it.

Really open game with lots of possibilities, but unbearably tedious at times.

only real problem is graphics. it got a little old after a while.

except for the graphics ,its pretty good game and very exciting.ive been playing this game 8 months , im lvl 91 combat and its still fun to play it. I love pking with my friends i think thats the best part about this game

Everyone, Ok. For one it's just a game. It's fun to play when theres nothing really else to do. Pvp'ing is about the only thing there is thats semi fun. I kno wow and guild wars is way better cuz ive played them. But still Runescape aint a terrible game. People on runescape are idiots though. Um but yeah dont express so much hate for a game. It's just a game thats it if u dont like it then o well dont frickin play it. Sayign its terrible over and over again and that wow and other games are better is obvious and the people who play runescape know that. I enjoy this game from time to time bcuz its simple and it doenst require full attention (point click and watch) so i can IM my friends or do work or whatever and i can play it at same time so guys just chillax. The game itself would/could be fun if it worked for everyone individually. As is, it sucks. the runescape community consists of 10 percent that are alright people and 90 percent rude, crude obnoxious morons. The overcrowding is completely ridiculous. The game is nothing more tham click and watch, except maybe for spell casting. The sounds are a joke and the music should be gotten rid of. They use the players for experimenting on with their updates instead of checking them through thoroughly before putting them out for the public. the game functioning is what you get when a game is run by artists instead of engineers.

I personally have played runescape for 3 years. I am lvl 95 at the moment. Most critics of runescape have complained on how hard it is to get levels up. Those people, in my opinion, are lazy. Runescape is not for the lazy gamer and i think that throws a lot of people off. Also, to people who complain about the graphics. Just try and and remeber the script is JAVA based and is really quite good if that is considered. Sure the music could use some revising but that seems rather insignificant to me. All in all runescape is a complete game that you would get much more attached to than something like W.O.W. or Guild Wars. Give it a try.

It's okay. I see that the graphics have improved since RSC. Good if you do free, but not so good if you do members. $60 a year? Why not just pay $40 for basically your whole life? (WOW, DII, Guild Wars, Maple Story.) The community is as bad as Counter-Strike, the word "noob" can mean anything. But of course all you have to do is hide public conversations and ignore anyone that talks to you.
All this game needs is better graphics, better music, and a better community.

Runescape is a joke compared to the other MMOs. Ive played it and I quit when I was lvl 100. I had member for like a year as well. After I looked at the other MMOs I couldn't believe what a joke it was! The graphics are a nightmare! The community CONSTANTLY call people "noob" even though 99% of them don't know what that means! I would say its a last resort if your computer cant play other games like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Conquer Online, Eudemons Online, etc. It was the first MMO, and worst MMO I have played.

easy to change your appirence but u can only be human\many people start playing but stop befor juging it befor realy getting to test its game play

Pros:An easy interface. Not completely battle based. Good for beginners! Easy on the computer. Browser-based. FREE!

Cons:Dull graphics. Dull character customization. Half of the community is in diapers while the other half are socially inept scum that dwell their basements and waste their lives bullying people and scamming accounts and making virtual money that adds up to debt in real life! The company is all around screwed up! They ban the person who ask someones age because they're being immature and annoying they're like a mother who always sticks by the little kid even though they're being an asswipe or junk like that! I find that the other MMOs I play cosist of more free choice and better healthier communities than RS ad a better moderation crew as well as a better help section. Thanks for reading!
