Just sighted in .223 with Bell & Carson stock. Love this gun!! Real precision at its best! Shot 1/2" groups all day long and a pleasure to shoot. I'm a lefty shooting a right handed bolt (just feels better to me)Found this rifle at Bass Pro, less than 6 mos old, for $800. Could not pass it up... chance of a lifetime! Everything about this rifle is 1st class all the way.

My Mark V is a .300 wby mag and I'm continually amazed by how well this rifle shoots !! I purchased in 2000, and have only taken it 3 times for deer hunting (2000, 2004, and 2006). All three times out I made my shot on a deer, and only once did the deer not drop right there (3rd one ran maybe 25 yds). I may yet in fact sell a few of my Remington 700's to pay for another Weatherby Mark V.

Great rifles. Roy Weatherby was a genius when he developed his ultra-high velocity rifle cartridges. And, the guns that he designed are nothing short of "sexy". Be sure to buy the Japanese made Mark V. Most folks rave about the West German made rifles, but I have had fewer problems with the Japanese made guns than with the Germans. Accuracy is what you would expect from a super high velocity hunting rifle. They are not tack drivers, but they get the job done.
