The ultimate plug and play device. Plug the drive into a USB jack and it backs up your hard drive, completely automatically. You don't press a key or click a mouse. It's a great software product bundled with an external hard drive. I paid $120 for a 320 GB, 2.5 inch laptop style, pocket sized drive. They offer smaller drives for less than $100 and larger up to 1 TB. If you already have an external drive, the offer a cable containing the software in ROM for $60. Backup takes several hours the first time, but it doesn't bog down your computer while it's running. Subsequent runs are faster because it backs up only new/changed files. One unit can backup multiple computers. It can be used to move files from an old computer to a new one. It backs up only data files, not programs. The external drive has a normal file structure, allowing you to open and change files if you want. It's not completely hands free the first time because W2K requires a reboot after installing and Vista asks for permission to install.
