Beretta people think everyone should be buying Berettas. I bought a Ruger Trap last year and love it. There are numerous gun makers out there to suit everyone's taste. The Ruger Trap Model is completely adjustable and built to last thousands upon thousands of rounds before servicing. The Trigger, Rib, comb (High-Low-cast on-off, LOP are all adjustable. It has screw in chokes, a Hasting's style barrel, long forcing cones, its over bored. ITS BUILT TO SHOOT TRAP!!! Its stainless, smooth shooting, has a great trigger, and the receiver is built to withstand 10's of thousands of rounds before servicing. After 10,000 rounds through mine in one year, i think it is safe to say I can make a valued assessment of the gun. I have shot Kreighoffs, Kolars, Seitz, Brownings, Perazzi's, etc... I see nothing different in the functioning and heavydutyness of the gun. I will offer one negative. The wood is American Walnut and does not have much grain to it. BUT, it is American Made, and their service is second to none!!! Don't be apprehensive about buying one, its a great looking gun, and built to last!!! Shoots great too. 8.7 pounds, 34" barrell.

I purchased a used Ruger Trap Model in 2003. I had a small problen with it and sent it back to the factory. They repaired the shotgun and DID NOT charge me a thing. I understand that they made about 326 of this model and the employees purchased around 200 of them. As of this date I don't think they will make any more. SHOOTER

LIKE WHAT WAS SAID. RUGER MAKES A GREAT FIELD GUN. IF YOU ARE GOING TO SHOT TRAP SPEND SOME EXTRA CASH AND GET A COMBO SET FROM BERRETA, BROWNING OR ALIKE. IF YOU HAVE A RUGER TRAP PRAY THAT NOTHING WILL GO WRONG WITH IT.

Ruger makes great field shotguns. They are not target guns. Pay the extra money and buy yourself a Beretta 682 Gold-X. You will thank me later.

I am quite pleased with mine, It handles well, comes up quick, and has modest recoil. It is a little pricy, but nomore-so than you would expect to pay for a quality trap gun. Fit and finish, was good also. Thanks Jim Kennedy
