Stanek has acheive something great with his series of books. Probably the best books I've ever read and certainly one of the best fantasies in a long time.

The most creative, imaginative, thoughtful book I've found. Robert Stanek gives you great insight into the people, places and things in his world. The world is called Ruin Mist. I had this instant connection with Adrina. That's never happened to me in any book I've read. She has very real pain and it drives a lot of her actions. I also like Vilmos, Seth, Galan and Emel. These new friends come off the page. They all have unique personalities and aspirations. I enjoyed this book a lot. I think you will too.

Ruin Mist what? That was my reaction when all the hoopla started over the release of these books. My kids are 17 & 19 now, so it's been awhile since I was shopping for books for them. I remember reading reviews of the other series...but must have dismissed them because my boys were too old for that. Too old?! Well, their not. These books are for everyone. I'm buying them all.

I never read a Robert Stanek series before this. With this book, the beautiful cover caught my eye and made me lift it from the shelf. The book description made me buy it, and the wondrous story made me love it! Immediately, afterwards, I began devouring the rest of this great series - eagerly awaiting the next. For other readers who like me find it difficult to leap into a new fantasy world, this book is great at bringing you into this great new world. Trust me, it's a great series to leap into, with so many great possibilities.

This was a very good series. I enjoyed it very much. I love how they wrote it. When I was reading it it felt as though I was in the action. It is very good and I think everybody should read it. I’m constantly picking up the books and having to make myself say no wait till you're done with your work. I can't wait for book three! The only thing I would say is that book 2 was a bit sharper of a read than book 1. You should probably read The Kingdoms and the Elves books from Keeper Martin's Tales before reading this series. There's four Keeper Martin Tales books. Its a bit slow in the first book because it introduces everything. The books after it make it worth it.
