My boyfriend and I used this method for 2 years. I dont take my temperature or anything like that. As long as you have sex the first two weeks after your period, you should be fine as long as you have regular periods . After those two weeks, its best to use a condom jsut in case.

This can be done but requires a lot of dicipline. Some Catholics still do this but you have to keep charts and take your tempature daily. You can sort of guess fertile times of the month but I would't rely on it.

I used FAM for many years during a time when I had to get off the pill due to health reasons. Even though my periods were off kilter for a while, the basal temp method in addition to FAM worked. A woman has to be committed to charting and being aware. It helps to have a steady mature partner as well. I also used condoms/spermacide for extra protection on my iffy days. No it's not the old fashioned calendar method, it takes a bit of studying to learn, but it is worth it to a. get off of hormones that mess with your natural fertility and moods and health, b. to become more aware of your own body. c. to have a sense of control over when to get pregnant/not get pregnant.

This is often hard to do unless the woman is extremely regular with her Moons.It also restricts sexual activity during her most fertile days,when she may be more in the mood than ever.Lots of women have gotten pregnant when they thought they were safe.

If you have a willing partner and a normal regular menstral cycle. This is a great method of birth control. Also you must know your body very well. Works great.

While things such as body temperature and counting days from one cycle to the next can be helpful, there are others such as medications that have proven effective. However, sometimes there are cases that either have to be surgically corrected or are simply not correctable as was a friend of mines case. Because it wasn’t a correctable case, they chose the option of adoption.

Too risky--it may work for some, but I wouldn't trust it too much. Without even the use of withdrawl, it's gambling against pretty tough odds. Perhaps used in conjunction with other methods, it may be a little more effective, but unless you're ABSOLUTELY sure, and you DON'T want a baby, then I wouldn't trust it.

Sperm can live for days in the vaginal cavity and even if a girl is not fertile at the time of ejaculation she could become fertile while the sperm is still alive. It only takes one of those little guys!
