I've been waiting for the iPhone OS 3.1 update to write this review. Why? Voice Recognition over Bluetooth. It really kicks this product's value up a notch. I can finally hit a button on my steering wheel and have the car correctly call who I want or play the music I want. The Parrot's built-in voice recognition was trash but that's no longer a problem. The only thing holding me back from a 5-star review is the occasional Bluetooth sync issues. Sometimes it won't switch to Bluetooth audio when it needs to and other times it will switch when there's no audio coming through (which just means that my car's main stereo mutes for about 5 seconds -- annoying). Also, the back and forward buttons don't work over Bluetooth and work sometimes when plugged into the iPhone's port directly. These are all minor issues that can be worked around and overall I'm happy with the product. I'd recommend to anyone with an iPhone 3GS.

This product works great, even for my non-techy spouse. My only complaint is about the manual. The installation instructions are basically worthless -- in fact the first thing that is said is to have this installed by a professional.

I have to say that I am pretty impressed with this product. Bluetooth clarity when on a phone call is really clear. Streaming audio via bluetooth is pretty good but there is a little static, I don't really mind but someone who is really into mobile audio might. I have an iPhone 3GS and I can still use the voice control feature while connected through bluetooth (some of these devices take complete control of the connected device). My one issue with this is that it won't work with any of my iPods (iPhone works perfect). I have a very old 2nd gen ipod (I wasen't expecting it to work) and I have an ipod video (60gig), neither work and both the ipods and parrot are updated to the latest firmware. I'm sure I could figure it out but I've only had it for 24 hours so it might take a little time. I was very suprised to find out that the USB port works better than described. They say that it only works with flash drives however I am running a 400GB western digital passport and its... Read more

About a 6 weeks ago I bought this product as to integrate my ipod and bluetooth phone into the Bose system in my 2005 G35. Installation was more hassle than I wanted to deal with, so I had it professionally installed. Here's how I rated it: [...] Ipod integration: The user interface is better and more intuitive than the you can get by using the Nissan factory ipod adaptor or the i-simple products, but you sacrafice sound quality. The problem is that the Parrot bypassed the Bose source unit with a direct line out the the Bose amp and that line out signal quality just isn't that good. MP3s played from a CD in the Bose unit sound much louder, more dynamic and cleaner than from the Ipod through the Parrot. After calling parrot, they gave me some software updates that improved it slightly, but not nearly enough. Phone/Bluetooth: This is what the Parrot does best. Pairing is done automatically when you step in the car and turn the ignition. Startup takes a few sec and the system mute... Read more
