Bench is very sturdy and the adjustable legs are a great feature. Only real complaint is that it's a bit heavy for a portable table. Arrived with some chips in the surface finish due to the insert plate coming loose during shipping and bouncing around in the box.

I don't have much free space in my garage. I needed a place to do small fix-it jobs and hobby work. I like the adjustable legs because they allow me to sit on my stool if I'm doing something that requires extra time. Very easy to set up and very sturdy. I also bought the tail vise but I haven't used it yet. I am a 65 year old female and it isn't too heavy for me to lift.

If you are looking for a light weight, craft bench, this work station is not for you! I was not really sure what to expect from this Skil workstation? i have always made my own. but the reviews were good so i decided to give it a try. WOW! Was i ever impressed with the hardiness of this work bench. it weighs in at about 45lbs and is extremely sturdy! i love that it so easily adjusts in height as well as being portable. i am a 40 something woman and wasn't too sure about how hard it would be to put together? but it took me only about 20 minutes to do. i am a very handy woman but i believe anyone could put it together in less than 45 min. once together, and put where you want it to be, it is very sturdy. i work with routers and hand saws and i feel very confident that this bench can hold it's own while i work on it. Skil has done a very good job with this bench and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a sturdy, portable work station.

I really want to like this product. I really do. But the first one I received (as a present) was damaged. The benchtop had nicks taken out of it during shipping. Since the top is made of MDF or Hardboard, it's not really all that durable to begin with. The replacement I received directly from Bosch Tools had a damaged corner which caused a sharp metal corner to stick out dangerously. I returned that one and just received my second replacement, which is packaged with no padding whatsoever. The table is simply folded and rattling around loosely inside the box. This replacement is also obviously one that has been sent in from someone else since the box is basically held together with packing tape. Not only that, but the metal plate that covers the tool port is missing completely as are the red clamp tops. I assume this product would be quite nice if I were able to use it once in the months that I've "owned" it. Simply the worst customer service I've experienced. In the mean time, I'm using my Rockwell Jawhorse over and over again and it's performed flawlessly. Since I don't have a work table at the moment, I put a piece of plywood clamped in my Jawhorse to act as a worktable. *Update*: I received a 4th X-Bench from Bosch with minimal damage. The customer service rep claimed it would be sent within another package, which it wasn't. However this table was in pretty good shape. Since I'm in the middle of a bunch of projects including re-drywalling my bedroom the X-Bench was put into use immediately. In use, as a product, it is quite good and very sturdy. I'm actually quite impressed with the tool itself. If only Skil would figure out how to package it properly and follow-up their words with their actions from customer service I'd be overall pleased with the purchase. As it stands I'll upgrade my rating a bit since it's working well as a tool.

The workbench is well designed and easy to set up, however, like other reviewers experienced it was delivered damaged with a crushed corner, and the insert plate area was cracked. For me, it was too much bother to send back, and it is just easier to work around the problem. It's not Amazon's fault, however if buyers continue to have problems with poor packing, Amazon should pressure Skil to remedy this problem or just not carry it.
