Wow. I am really surprised to see this got the same rating as Brooklyn Lager, which is a way more superior beer! Michelob Amber Bock certainly tastes better than regular Michelob, Michelob Light or Michelob Ultra. It's dark with a bit of sweetness but it's more watered down than what a microbrewery's version would be. Save your money and savor something better!

Michelob with some molasses. Not half bad for a Big American Brewery. Some actual bitter hop flavor. If bar choices are limited give it a try. Also a good palate cleanser before trying another craft beer.

My favorite big brewery beer. Good balance and always goes down easy. They have it at my favorite bar for a doller a pint on draft so its easy on my wallet also!!!

I spent 2 years in Germany so I know good beer. When Michelob came out with Amber Bock in 1997, I haven't drank anything else since. This is a great beer that I thoroughly enjoy and will leave a restaurant if they don't have it. I left my favorite places if I find out they are out or have stopped serving it. Anyone who doesn't like it, doesn't know or like real beer and probably drinks miller lite or bud light or some other crappy beer like that.

This beer is actually very good. Not like Michelob Ultra having no taste, this beer has a strong taste, and packs a punch.

One of the better beers from the mass produced beer companies. It doesn't compare to the best microbrews, but is a great alternative to most of the generic lagers that are out there. Definitely a beer I will purchase if I am looking for something to buy for others who may not be as daring when it comes to their beer drinking.

This is not, repeat not, a bock. Its simply a dark lager, and not a particularly good one.
trebon1038 02/24/2008
Its ok but too sweet.
Larz1 02/24/2008
It isn't bad, but as dark beers go it is on the weak sister side.

This is what I drink if Guinness or Sam Adams Black aren't available. Surprising for a company that is proud of Budweiser.

"Sophisticated" beer drinkers like to drink this stuff. But this is NOT a bock. It is an American dark lager, and an average one at that. I like Shiner Bock is better. If you want a REAL bock, try the Ayinger Celebrator. Technically it is a dopplebock or double bock, but it is truly an amazing beer.

It is a very good beer and not bitter at all. Maybe the best value when combining taste and price.

Great beer when you're looking for something a little darker than the typical Budweiser, MGD, etc., but not willing to pay a lot more money. And while it may cost a little more than those beers at a grocery store, in bars its often the same price.

This is my favorite beer! I love the full bodied flavor! I can drink this one straight or use it to cook with! It just has that extra kick that I love!

Since this is a michelob product I should be trashing it............but I can't, this is a good beer. A mediocre bar favorite.

It's sold as a decent American beer, but there are far better Amber beers on the market.
Djahuti 10/17/2004
Pretty good and quite affordable.

A decent dark beer...only decent though. American and dark beer shouldn't really be used in the same sentence, but this one I pick when there isnt anything else i like available.

This shit will give you a real bad headache - even after only two. There are a lot better dark beers on the market.

I forgot to rate this nasty swill when I was rating the Anheuser Busch beers last week. Once again, another fancy budweiser named something else. This beer is honestly one of the worst ever. It is very bitter, and definately does not go down smooth. I just totally hated it. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Bleah.!

So far the closest i've been able to come, to Lowenbrau Dark. Why did they have to stop importing Lowenbrau ???
