 | CARLTONxBANKS (0) 07/02/2008 | They do not sell filtered luckies in the states, which is a bummer. All they sell here are unfiltered, which have incredible taste, but I like filtered cigarettes, so I could never smoke these regularly. Pretty weird how the classic American cigarette is practically exclusive to Europe.

 | MunkyJuce69 (0) 06/26/2008 | very nice "classic" cigarrette with a truly toasted taste, like its
been homecooked. They are pretty hard on the lungs and give a headrush
like no other, but its unfiltered so eh. Other than camel wides they
are the only non menthol (and only non filter) cigarrette i can smoke
(and like) tho i consider these delicacy cigarrettes that are best
saved for a rainy day and not to be chain smoked until your coughing up
blood and cancer chunks.

Oh and i bought mine at K mart for fucking $5.15! Newports are only $3 at the gas station! No wonder Kmart is going out of business.... but yea they are hard to find, msot tobacco shops in the US dont even carry them

 | ch1pmunk (0) 06/04/2008 | Nonfilter Luckies are my favorite smokes. They have a classic, nutty flavor to them.
I tried the filtered variety, but they just didn't cut it. I noticed a strange aftertaste...sort of like ammonia sprinkled with nutmeg. Blech.

 | EL37 (0) 04/11/2008 | I agree with all the positive comments, these were one of the first brands I had and definitely one of the best. They have a distinct, strong aroma but still not too harsh or overpowering, they also tend to be one of the less expensive brands, I would say they are more for men I shared one with a friend of mine who is female and she liked them but did not prefer them, to be honest I have only had the unfiltered but they get a 5/5 from me.

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 04/10/2008 | I smoked for many years and Luckies was my brand. LSMFT was the slogan and that was true. (Lucky Strikes Means Fine Tobacco--we heard in on the radio and tv all the time!) I worked on highway construction for a few years and this is the brand you could roll up in your tee shirt sleeve a la James Dean. Of course this was 1961!

 | Guruu (0) 03/31/2008 | Only have had a drag off a buddies cig a few weeks before the filters back in my old town got dicontinued in the US.
The taste was extremely smooth, and a unique taste that could only be described as 'toasty'. They also didnt leave an unplesant taste in my mouth.
I got to say, no cigarette has ever matched up to that one single drag, I've tried the unfilters though, and still smoke em every once and a while, but its defenetly not the same.
Im thinking about buying a carton online, seeing how cheap they are in europe.
5/5

 | death5089 (0) 03/25/2008 | The toughest of the tough. These were given to U.S soldiers in WWII for free. They toast the tobacco which gives um a unique flavor. the kick is the greates you will get and the smoke draws through like a sucking on a straw because they have no filter. great taste, tough, great cig.

 | baalpeteor (0) 03/18/2008 | absolutely great. The best smoke ever. It has a unique taste to it. The closest thing to the toasted flavor I can think of is... toasted flavor.. along with popcorn, and a big nutty. Must have

 | Caleb462 (0) 03/06/2008 | Filtered Lucky Strikes along with Lucky Strike Lights are simply the best cigarettes I've ever tried, and I've tried many. The flavor is incredibly distinctive, with that toasted flavor that reminds me of hickory or cedar. So many sublte complexities of flavor in a Lucky Strike The smoke itself is smooth but has some kick to it, but it's not overly harsh... it's just right. The unfortunate thing is that Lucky Strike has discontinued the filters and the lights in the US. Lucky Strike unfiltereds are still available of course, but I don't like unfiltered cigarettes. If you can find a pack of Lucky Strike Filters or Lucky Strike Lights, don't hesitate to buy it. They can be expensive, but this is a first-class cigarette.

 | izzy26 (0) 02/21/2008 | These are the all-time classic cigarettes, they are not as strong as camels or chesterfields, but very rich in tobacco taste and have a nice kick to them too. The toasted flavor is unique, and not harsh. They get the job done, and are great if you want a great smoking experience.

 | diprosopus (1) 01/19/2008 | I was recently in Europe, Barcelona to be exact and I tried lucky strike reds and silvers and since I didn't smoke one after the other I can't make a direct comparison, but while smoking each pack I kept thinking that it was the best filtered cigarette I've ever had...probably partially due to my not having one for 3 days prior but regardless, gets a 5, I recommend them.
EDIT: Bought some non filters locally, still delicious. I've found my brand. EDIT #2: Very recently, I found a place which sells the filtered version and, while slightly different from the ones in Spain, they're by far my favorite brand. Definitely worth trying.

 | Ghost22 (1) 10/25/2007 | One word....fantastic.
I've been looking all over Hawaii for a pack of these and last night my friend showed up at my room and tossed them too me. Don't know where he got em, still gotta ask him but these are great. They have a great taste in my opinion and are really strong; i'm feelin the buzz off of them.
Only thing I don't like much about em is that for the first couple drags I keep spitting little tobacco bits out but I pretty much expected that from a cig with no filters. Awesome cigarette though.

 | dbrent47 (0) 08/03/2007 | im a very old naval officer who has smoked a pack of luckies each day since the early 1940's when the white part on the pack was olive drab green and the motto was "Luckies Go To War"...you can look it up.....turn your pack over and read the initials LSMFT on the bottom ....that stands for LUCKY STRIKE MEANS FINE TOBACCO......or, if you were a blue water sailor trying to convince the japanese (with VERY large mortars) NOT to enslave the philipines, the initials meant LOOSE SWEATERS MEAN FLOPPY TITS....
please excuse the disconnected ramblings of forgettable old vet....
it was completely MY pleasure to serve.

 | jetjock (0) 08/03/2007 | You haven't really had a Lucky Strike until you have the unfiltered version. It captures the 'toasted' flavor better than the filtered variation. However, both have won me over and I started smoking them this summer. They are very tasty and have a wholesome, pure tobacco taste. They are also expensive, a dollar more than your standard pack.

 | thekingofska (0) 07/20/2007 | I don't do unfiltered cigarettes--they're just way too strong for me. However, I do love the lights, despite the fact that they're unbelievably expensive and hard to find. It's good to switch to them once in a while, but just be prepared to spend $7 on a pack.

 | FormerLuckySmoker (0) 07/16/2007 | RJ Reynolds gained control of this brand sometime back in 2005. They totally changed the product. Anyone that smoked this brand (Non-filter) before the takeover had to have noticed the change. There is alot of reconstituted tobacco in these now and more additives. They even reduced the circumfrence of the cigarette. The 21st century caught up to this cigarette. I loved this brand when it was manufactured by Brown & Williamson and American Tobacco -- IT WAS PERFECT! I now roll my own using Two Timer tobacco by D&R tobacco.

 | pallmalllover (0) 07/09/2007 | Not liking unfiltered Lucky Strike is like not liking a cold bottle of
Coca-Cola. Luckies are just so classic tasting - sweet, nutty and sooo
mild for an unfiltered smoke. I bought a pack in Philly the other
weekend and holy $^#% are these things good! It had been a long
time...and these really are not harsh (don't pull on them hard, duh!).
Buy them only from super busy stores to make sure they're fresh. Stale
cigarettes of any kind burn hot and taste harsh. But as far as smokes
go, you can't beat the US unfiltered version. Damn good - and PS, the
"It's Toasted" comes from the Burley tobacco used in these smokes being
fire cured twice, rather than air cured. Gives a much sweeter, milder
flavor. I want one right now!

 | Rumpole (0) 06/17/2007 | I've only ever seen these as non filtered standard size; this is part of it's no-apologies old-time cachet: there are no trendy flavored versions or various "lights". A mellow, smooth, toasty flavor; some buttery characteristics akin to Camel but not as sweet; does not have the caramel notes found in Camel. Moderate burn speed makes up a bit for the short length. Very enjoyable.

 | SLR (0) 12/07/2006 | These smokes just have something specisal about them, they have been around for over 100 years, theyre featured in films such as GoodFellas, they have an original name, original packaging, original slogans and original taste. Also the commercials make me laugh. I agree with most of the reviews here, and I found that I had to comment on the best smoke ever. Lucky Strike, It's Toasted.

 | flounder (0) 11/22/2006 | It's a terrible reason but I'll occasionally smoke these for sentimental value. My great uncle used to smoke luckies. I do like the taste. thery're smoother than Camel nonfilters but stronger than Pall Malls. Anyone who wants to see old ads, including one or two Lucky Strike ads, go to classictvads.com and check out the commericals. It's a pretty cool site.

 | TheFlick (0) 11/15/2006 | Yowza. Beware ye all who enter here. The closest you'll come to a cigar with white paper and a bit of sponge at the end, both in taste and magnitude. A very nice smoke with a very unique flavour - if you can stomach 'em. Not for you light smokers - one of these puppies will blow your head off. Like myself, for example - I once smoked 11 in a row and nearly collapsed. Enough said.

 | hotel283 (20) 01/20/2006 | Only smoked one ever, I bummed it off a Japanese sailor in Hawaii. Standard American cigarette albeit quote strong. | edt4 (99) 07/14/2005 | A woman I knew in childhood smoked these things constantly. In my mind's eye, I can still see the smoke curling up around her yellowed fingers. Needless to say, she's dead now from what was described as Classic smoker's cancer. It manifested itself first as a brain tumor, but the cancer had actually originated in the lung. The brain tumor was successfully removed, but she died soon afterward from the lung cancer. It was not a pleasant death.

 | redfront (0) 03/03/2005 | A great cigarette. The only reason to get these is fot the unfiltered kind. The filters are good too but not really that much different from your basic cigarette. Getting back to the non-filters, they are really strong, but really good. Just a heads up, they'll knock you on your ass if you're not careful. Also, another problem is that you sometimes get tobacco in your mouth when smoking these which is very unpleaseant.

 | EasyCheese1234 (0) 01/30/2005 | It's hard to put into words why I love Lucky Strikes so much. I dunno if it's the great taste, the elegant package, or the image associated with it. For me, Luckies will always contain memories. With each one I smoke, I think about the time I kissed that girl under the stars, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't wash her smell out of my sweatshirt. Maybe it's the time Tim and I let our legs dangle off the dock, as we talked about what we were gonna do after we got out of school. As somebody who lives in a permanant state of nostalgia, Luckies are important, because they remind of good times, good tunes, and good friends.

 | Mrsublime (0) 09/28/2003 | I think you either love Lucky's or ya hate em. simple as that. They have a reputation, like I've had people come up to me and say "you're smokin a Lucky? are you trying to kill yourself?" but it's something about the taste and the feel of the strong smoke that you can't get with any other kind of cig. I love em after a good date, or as an after dinner smoke.
