Over spending all the time can get you into trouble fast...lets see, how would I know that!

I'm a college student and Man money right now is rough. You see I don't make much money right now and the money I do have I spend foolishly. I spend most of my money on Fast food or eating out. I have alot of bills so whatever does not go on bills goes on food. This is a bad habit that I will break. In order to break a bad habit you have to be disciplined. But thats really hard if you do not have help. See I'm a christain that means I have special forces lol I pray and ask God to break me of my bad habits. A lot of people always say if I only had more money things would be different but thats not true. If you can't be responsible with a little amount of money how are you going to be responisble with alot of money. You see if you handle the small things God gives you in life with wisdom he will entrust in you bigger and better things. I'm going to break this bad habit because I know God has great things for me. This bad habit is keeping me from living God best. Learn to sacrifice. Go with out for a while so you can start saving money. When you feel yourself giving in remind yourself that what your going through even though its hard it's just preperation for a better life!

Overspending has ruined my life. I can't pay my bills and I feel so ashamed. I hide the fact that I run out of money from my family because it causes huge fights. I feel like I'm being so irresponsible spending the way I do but even when I WANT to change, I never suceed. It is truly out of control and I want to stop for good. This can truly mess up your life and relationships. A behavior becomes a problem when it affects you significantly and takes a hold of your life and that's what has happened to me. I spend on crap I don't need when I'm upset and angry but then I get home, look at the stuff I bought and it doesn't help me feel better so I go out and buy more stuff. I really need help with this.

i could not do it but hey if you have money go for it.
kattwoman 06/12/2005

Every one over spends a little bit.

Always have been guilty of this. One of my guilty pleasures!

This needs to be defined more. Exactly what is overspending anyway? Like paying $500 for shoes? But what if your making enough money where you can afford it? My Timberlands were $140. Many people say that they would never spend that much and whatnot, but I have the money to buy it. By the way, I think Credit Cards are the worst thing ever, and I never ever want to get one.
LadyShark4534 10/10/2003
Yeah. I'm guilty of this.
Molfan 10/03/2003
about a 2.5. Overspending can be bad if it takes over your life. and you run up your credit cards. If you keep on buying stuff you do not even need. If you spend your paycheck on all that stuff and cannot pay your bills.that does not mean you can Never, buy anything. I believe you have to buy some fun things for the heck of it . I know people who buy tons of clothes and hardly wear them, or things on a whim and do not use them. I know of worse habits but overspending can be a problem in marraiges if the spouse blows money all time without any thought to anyone else.

Overspending on anything is pure stupidity.I've done some very stupid things, but I've never spent too much money doing them.
KoRnChild70 06/05/2003
HOW HARD IS IT TO NOT SPEND TOO MUCH? AS*HOLE. QUIT SPENDING MORE MONEY THAN YOU MAKE YOU DIC*. JUST SPEND THE AMOUNT YOU PLANNED ON. GOT IT? ITS NOT HARD AT ALL. WHY IS THIS A HABIT? IT'S JUST WHAT AS*HOLES DO TO MAKE ME ANGRY.
RebelYell1861 05/13/2003
Well it's a lack of self control that can put you in some of the tightest of spots.
kamylienne 05/13/2003
One of these little sins that I also indulge in on occasion--once in a while, it's good to spoil yourself or a loved one. Just make sure you can pay the rent and the bills along with your splurge!
philc 03/06/2003
It can ruin your life, not to mention all of your family members. It's not fun in the final analysis.

I find it amazing that so many people in this world are spending money that they don't have and find that fine and in some circumstances fun. Its no wonder why so many people are in serious debt! I swear this world is getting too materialistic - I only spend what i have, that way i don't get into trouble and i don't end up owing money to a company that are going to charge the hell out of me!
lukskywlkr. 11/02/2002
I think this is bad only if you spend too much on stuff you don't need and you neglect your bills. As long as you take care of the necessities first, I don't see why overspending would be a problem, unless you are putting it all on a credit card. Then, you will probably have major problems.
Lord Luzifer 08/30/2002
it's so fun!!!!
abichara 07/15/2002
Overspending doesn't really affect anyone but yourself and the credit card company. This habit does lead to a lot of problems though. For one thing, debt is like an ever ending cycle, once you get into it, it's very hard to get out. Making loans to pay off debts is even worse; it's a double cycle so to say. Not only that, but overspending can really put a strain on your personal relationships. I know plenty of people who have gotten divorces because of money. So all in out, stay out of debt and that will keep away a lot of problems from your life.

Dirk and tboneya both have a point. I enjoy doing this from time to time myself too...until the Visa bill comes due!
