Were it not for the qualifying prefix 'sub' this might have been the only time in history the words redneck and culture were used in the same sentence. A more appropriate term for rednecks might be sub-sub-sub-culture.

They serve as the "useful idiots" of the Reactionary Right.

I am not now, have never been, and will not be in the future, a NASCAR fan; nor will I ever go to, as the estimable John Kerry stated, while whoring after Redneck votes, a NASCAR "meet." Be that as it may, I love the rednecks and am a supporter of same.

I disagree that there's no posturing here. Rednecks I've met are just as judgmental of each other as members of many other subcultures, the rules are just different.

Similar to some other subcultures, rednecks can also be completely intolerant of everyone outside their microcosm as well... they lose a lot of points in my book because most that I've met happen to be quite racist. Apologies to anyone who considers themselves a redneck and is open-minded, but I haven't met anyone like you, yet.
