Papelbon had another good year, but paying attention to the games I saw him pitch, he didn't look as dominant in years past. He got his saves and kept his ERA low, but he did it by sneaking by rather than by blowing people away. Good year for a closer, but Papelbon isn't Cy Young worthy.

Not worth a vote. It's not that he had a particularly bad year, but closers have to be spectacular to get Cy Young consideration, in my opinion. Besides, he got significantly worse in the the most dangerous statistical category for a closer, bases on balls. He went from 8 in 2008 to 24 in 2009 while pitching an inning and a third less.
