He lead India away from socialism and toward a market economy. His Hindu nationalism, however, raised religious tensions.

Deserves no stars for being a member of a right-wing theocratic party and for allowing fascist Shiv Sena into his coalition. Shiv Sena is the party Hitler would have created had he been Indian. That being said, the new coalition sucks for being too pro-American and for including Stalinists.
