 | edt4 (99) 07/18/2007 | They had a few very good songs, and I related to their infatuation with old horror movies, but they could become tiresome quickly. They always sounded to me like what punk might have been if it had come out in the 1950's rather than the 1970's. Originally from Lodi, NJ, they recorded one of their records in a supposedly haunted house, and claim you can hear "ghost" sounds on the record.

 | defbean (5) 02/09/2005 | My favorite 80's punk band. They are so great even without Danzig..Die Die My Darling, Skulls and Shining are my favorite tracks of the Misfits.

 | weare138 (0) 04/08/2004 | the new misfits suck can you ride Glenn's coattails any harder with such horrible music I dont care how many lead singers you put in that god awful band the misfits was,is,and will always be Glenn Danzig his curdling, powerhouse voice is what made misfits and the old raspy synthesizer sounds is what did it. Anyone that can truly say that the wanna be misfits are anything like the original is a main stream sell out. I'm sure you would also like to see them perform a song with justin timberlake or maybe sing the national anthom at the super bowl..........................

 | Trix (0) 02/16/2004 | Great melodic horror punk with Danzig's inimitable vox (I like the Newfits too tho)-great concept that works great in performance too. They are really something special and I know it's most all due to Danzig but I still like what they've been doing without him (there physically-musically he's still very much there).

 | arbitrarium (0) 06/09/2003 | they paved the way for hundreds of bands. from metallica to duran duran, from Rob Zombie to Micheal Jackson's Thriller, these guys did it first. i will pass down my vinyl copy of "Earth A.D." to my daughter one day. not just great, but truely awesome

 | DeathRattle (1) 08/12/2002 | Ramones, ...Pistols, Anti-Heroes, Operation Ivy, Black Flag: they were all great. However, my pick for the best punk band ever is THE MISFITS. They were just diffrent compared to every other punk band (tales of sci-fi & horror (what other punk band had went that angle)). This is music that was just relaxing (as relaxing as punk can be). In other words, you didn't need to find a message in their songs because there was none (unless you like the fact they hey like horror stories for a message). The brain child of the infamous Glenn Danzig, the Misfits' music has influenced almost every metal band as much as Black Sabbath. They may forever be underground in the world of Billboard, but every musician will think of the Misfits as legends. Thanks Glenn.
