I went to this animal hospital to get a routine checkup for my dog. My brother pays her doggy insurance (pet assure) which gives 25% off for vet services. Before going to the clinic I checked their website, noticed that there was a complimentary vet visit with each new customer as well as a $15 off coupon. I thought it was a great deal, so I took my dog. When I showed up they took my information down, I listed myself as the guardian of my dog and I handed them my insurance card. Everything was going smoothly - the vet gave her the complimentary physical and then they took her to get her nails clipped followed by a fecal exam. While my dog was off with the techs I was given an estimate for all the work. HERE IS WHERE THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME: the tech put in a ton of unnecessary vaccines, blood work, even a sonogram that I knew my dog did not need. Prior to seeing them I had informed them that my dog was up to date with her rabies vaccines and they still wanted to give her the vaccine and charge me for it even though I had proof that my dog was vaccinated! The tech became upset when I told her I did not want to pay for all those tests and vaccines. The tech insisted that it was the best thing for her and tried to make me feel like an idiot, like I didn’t know what was best for my dog. I refused to give in and I told her I only wanted my dog to have her physical and tested for heartworms. When they then ran up the bill for what I requested the tech acted very surprised at “my amazing discount’ due to the 25% off from my insurance. I was not surprised at all; it was still a lot of money. I finally presented her with my $15 coupon and she became skeptical and took it to her manager. The manager then denied my coupon. When I asked why they said I was already getting a good enough deal with the complimentary vet visit and 25% off from my insurance. At this point I became very upset informing them that there was no fine print on the coupon saying that it could not be combined with insurance or other discounts. They still refused to honor me with my coupon and in addition to that, they tried to remove my 25% insurance discount because my brother was not present for the visit. I have taken my dog to other clinics where they have given her the insurance despite my brother not being there. It is my belief that this clinic was trying to do everything possible to prevent me from my discounts. In the end I left with my dog and her bloody misshapen nails, which they did a terrible job at clipping. Overall horrible service. Horrible experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They will lure you in with their fantastic deals and then do the old “bait and switch”. Don’t let yourself be fooled by their false advertisements.
